Hi everyone ! I’m curious, have anyone created their own Ships/Crews for S&V? The “fleet” included in the book is quite limited, even if the ships are less focused than BitD’s crews.
So did you do it ? How did it go ? What did you change ? Why did you do it ? Would you share your unique craft ?

I’m considering porting the BitD / FitD SRD to Fate Core, working with a long-term GM friend on some of the specifics.
My reasons for this are basically to do with my typically GMing platform: I don’t have a lot of free time, nor a regular gaming group, so I’m usually playing RPGs by play-by-post or play-by-forum. BitD is a wonderful system, but the pre-roll negotiation causes some issues for PbP; Fate is much more easy-going in this respect, with the negotiation occurring post roll instead. Whilst this changes some of the setting-mechanics mixture that is inherent to BitD, I think I can probably make it work.
That said, I’d probably need somebody to actually test the damn thing in a tabletop or virtual tabletop environment.
Is there any interest (a) in such a port and (b) being a playtester / GM?

Here is version 0 of my Licensed Adventuring Company hack, an anachronistic fantasy comedy adventure hopepunk game of brave adventurers doing heroic things and navigating bureacracy. Very incomplete, and who knows if it will ever be complete, but I tried to make it minimally viable and welcome thoughts, suggestions, questions.
If you actually playtest it, please tell me who took part so I can give credit in future versions.
And…I guess I will have to reply to add the link to the playbooks.
So I’ve been synthesizing the feedback for Blades Against Darkness and trying to get a feel of what additional content I need to provide folks in the game. To that end here is my process for making jobs, doing engagement, and running dungeons. This hasn’t gone through layout, or much editing, but I figure that it will fill in some of the big questions that folks out there have.
In “Engagement” it mentions one critical change coming in the next version of the beta packet. That is, each Zone will have the faction’s defenses listed on the back. This is crucial for answering the question of what exactly are the players engaging. Here’s an updated version of The White Forest as an example:
Below you can see some art for the facing pages before the descriptions of the playbooks in A NOCTURNE, my FitD game about transhuman space bastards. This one’s for the Forgotten.
As you can probably tell, I’m going to be leaning even harder into the creepy far future transhuman horror and malaise for v0.9: making the character’s physical bodies even more fluid and disposable, making the default cluster weirder, and bringing in even more ghastly factions, as well as taking into account all the wonderful, constructive feedback I’ve been getting so far for v0.8 (keep it coming!).
I’m properly starting work on v0.9 tomorrow, and will be play-testing thoroughly as I go. No solid date on its completion just yet, but I’ll keep y’all posted!
Any interest in a Hacking BitD Book Club/Worshop/Meet?
Any interest in a Hacking BitD Book Club/Worshop/Meet?
This may exist in the community already and I just haven’t seen it, but I was wondering if there is/there would be any interest in a weekly/every-other-weekly meeting on Discord or google chat for folks hacking Blades?
I’ve been part of writing groups before that did writing exercises, gave feedback on work, and just talked writing in general. It was great for my craft and also seeing different perspectives on writing and what works and what doesn’t. Also it gave me a great excuse to keep writing and be accountable to someone other than myself when I needed that sort of thing.
I’ve been idly hacking BitD for most of this year, and while it’s fun it’s also sometimes a very lonely process. I play it with folks but I don’t often have anyone to talk to who has experience with BitD or hacking Blades, or just design in general. As an amateur it would be great to meet and chat with other folks going through the same or similar processes.
