I have a question for John Harper: I noticed there is a Blades in the Dark Backerkit. But I didn’t see much information available. Is there a way to get in on the printed version of Blades? Is there going to be a PoD version through DrivethruRPG at some point? Thanks!

Due to a discussion with an old friend, I now am trying to figure out a crew based around a restaurant looking for the best ingredients possible no matter the costs.

So we got some questions regarding the fine hunting pets and as to how they are actually used.

We solved the initial problem with using the Command action rating when you play with your pet, for example i command the pet to condition him to act in a way., roll for it.

Is this the way it is supposed to be or is there another mechanic going into this?

Constructive criticism about the Breakers gang type:

I don’t think they should have patron, it doesn’t make as much sense as the assassins having it and the overlap is meh inspiring. I propose a move that helps the breakers collect or set up protection rackets. This seems much more in line with what a gang of toughs (similar to the Peaky Blinders perhaps) would have instead of a person paying them to go rough people up. My argument is this let’s the players be Al Capone rather than going and finding him as a boss. Plus if the breakers still really want a patron they can just use a vet move on it.

Just my 2 cents, and I don’t mean denigrate your amazing rpg writing skills John!!

I am thinking about a Blades pbp in addition to my one shots.

I am thinking about a Blades pbp in addition to my one shots. The one thing I am hung up on for it is blades has a lot of meta-conversation when deciding the situation and scale. For those of you that have done this before do you have an example of how you handled it, also I am curious how you do end of session stuff. I assume the best way is when the score is over I should close the scene and open up meta conversation.

First off I’d like to say I like pretty much every aspect of this game, so kudos to John and the team for crearing an amazing product. Secondly, is there anything I can look at dedicated to more in depth descriptions of factions, environments, and people other than what’s in the handbook?

Thank you all for your help so far.

Thank you all for your help so far. I have only one person signed up for our first session this coming Sunday. My first thought is to skip crew set up and have him start with a solo session while we get more players. I thought I could have him answer some questions….why don’t you have a crew?, what is your life like in Duskwall? What might you be looking for in a crew? Then depending on what he wants we can get into trouble from there.

These are just my first thoughts. If there were one GM and player posts sorry I missed them. I would appreciate any thoughts or ideas.

I noticed in Episode 10 of Bloodletters, it didn’t appear as though Oskarr is first spending an 8-clock /finding/ a ritual, and then an additional 8-clock /learning/ the ritual. How hard do you guys make it to find interesting rituals, which must then also be learned?

It started to looked like a decent adventurer boardgame. Players drawing mission cards per region to protect lines, or takibg on sidejobs in the cities. Got an “Eldritch Horror” vibe. Game ended when the first player hit retirement.
