I have this the startings of a hack that maybe should be split into two hacks. I have the notes containing all of it here for you fine people to give your thoughts on.

One of the Leech’s contacts includes “Jul the Blood dealer” and I’m having trouble imagining what exactly that means other then sounding cool. Does anyone have any cool interpretations of this text?

So my little brothers saw my shiny special edition book and I’m not the deceptive sort so I told them exactly what it is, they want to play Blades some time in the future. So I need help with figuring out how to play it with 7 year olds that still don’t have a complete grasp on language and one of them has been kind of yelly when we have previously played role playing games. I’m not sure I can explain the various parts of the game well enought, any suggestions?

I’ve recently rewatched Howl’s Moving Castle and thought it looks like what the BitD setting would look like if there were a functioning Gate of Death, and shapeshifting magic is common place.

After finding this out, I’m interpreting the Dimmer Sisters to be hoarders and people haven’t been able to get out of their house more because they got lost in there then the wards surrounding it. It takes more time to navigate the tunnels then should be possible, if you manage to follow the floor plans then rooms are found in places they shouldn’t be, the rats aren’t Doskvol rats, they aren’t Dagger Isle or imperial city rats either. There’s probably at least one leviathan that crawls through that mess, either that or the subtle sounds emanating from the house are all the spirits trapped inside.

I’ve come up with a Blades variant to the Mafia party game. It’s called Doskvol Mafia. Aside from thematic name changes, the only difference is that you can still talk after you’re killed.

It seems to me from the anecdotal evidence and limited pool of various streams and play reports, that most groups have someone pick a Spyder. I’m curious why that is. I’m guessing it’s a combination of being a scheming mastermind being incredibly cool, the support abilities are enticing and it’s the Playbook that advertises as the one which deals with the faction game.

What would you think of a reverse devil’s bargain (angel’s markup?), you get a guarantee that something beneficial will happen but you pay for it with reduced effect or -d.

Because people are more willing to lose dice when they already have decent pools, it will lead to situations that people who are competent fail but still get something out of it. Which would lead to a somewhat different fiction.

If both devil’s bargains and angel’s markups can be applied to the same roll then you could trade something bad happening for something good happening, which seems like it’d add a peculiar kind of certainty.
