Question about Potency: In the base book under “assessing factors” of effect, it says that fine items stack with quality and tier. If i have an item or ability that grants potency, does this also stack with other effect factors.

Ex: Fine Longsword + Ghost Fighter Cutter Advance. Will this result in a +2d to the skirmish action roll?

Also in general do effect factors stack either in addition or subtraciton to the end result?

I’m sorry if someone already asked this, but is there something new in version 8.2 or is it just about typo…

Question about healing in downtime:

“You may heal yourself if you have the Physicker special ability, but you take 2 stress when you do so. You can also choose to simply tough it out and attempt to heal without any treatment—in this case, take 1 stress and roll 0d.”

Does this means that if I want to heal myself wihtout treatment I should roll 2d and take the lowest one despite my Tinker score?

Thanks in advance

Question about entanglements?

In some of the entanglements is stated what happens if the player rolls 1-3 or 4-5 but not what happens if he rolls 6. So, how should i treat 6?

“Questioning

The cops grab an NPC member of your crew or one of the crew’s contacts, to question them about your crimes. Who do they think is most vulnerable? Make a fortune roll to see how much they talk (1-3: +2 heat, 4/5: +1 heat), or pay the constables off with 2 coin.”

Hi guys and gals!

Hi guys and gals!

Hi guys and gals! I have some questions about the rules. I was reading the donwtime sections and some doubts arose. Specifically, what is the purspoise of the prision claims? and about entaglements, what if the players want to do something about the problems that arise? Can they roll dices? Use stress? Have a flashback?

Thank you!

I have a puzzlement.

I have a puzzlement. The rulebook says you can have max 6 Turf, but none of the Crew Sheets contain more than 4 Claims that are Turf.

So this rule seems redundant, which leads me to wonder… have I missed some other way that you can gain Turf, besides seizing the Claims on your Crew Sheet?

Hi all, I have just started a new campaign with Blades and need some advice with combat.

Hi all, I have just started a new campaign with Blades and need some advice with combat. I love the game but the examples are a little wooly. Lets say the pcs (Tier 0) are facing a larger group of Red Sashes. Owing to their opponents scale and tier, perhaps each pc may have to roll with Desperate and Limited, as its going to be pretty tough. i may create a 6 segment clock to represent the groups morale and health.

Q1 :Now, if the players decide to take a group action, would that effect the position or effect? Or is the fact they are more likely to succeed, and so take less harm each, a compensation for the fact they only roll once?

Q2: Also with group actions, if a player decides to take 2 stress to increase their effect, is that added to the overall result? Could several players decide to do that and so gain several levels of effect?

Q3: Another Group action question: If players have differing effect levels, say from using fine weapons, how is this reflected in the final outcome? Do you use the highest effect from everyone involved in the group action?

Reactionary Scores.

Reactionary Scores.

So most scores are instigated by the player initiative. They are the “aggressor” in the scenario and trigger the encounter themselves. How do you run things when they are on the defensive? Examples are in the book like – protect an area or take something from A to B. The assault/social/etc plans don’t really fit anymore and the engagement roll feels a bit murky.

How do you handle scores that are triggered by NPCs?
