On page 49, there is a section labeled “CREW ADVANCEMENT” that apparently takes place during each Downtime. At the end of this section is this subheading and text:

PROFITS

Every time the crew advances, each PC gets stash equal to the crew Tier +2, to represent profits generated by the crew as they’ve been operating.

My question is this: what does “the crew advances” mean? Does it mean every trip through the “CREW ADVANCEMENT” section (i.e. every Downtime), or does it mean every time the crew fills up their tracker and buys a new ability or pair of upgrades?

Hi there

Hi there

Hi there,

are any visual playing aids out there, apart from clocks?

I’d like to actually show my players the options of desperate, risky, controlled / (zero), limited, standard, great, (extreme) because in the heat of the moment wie tend to forget to talk about these factors (and therefore some situations are in fact desperate but nobody gets to mark xp for it).

Last time I just wrote the words on plastic cards and put them on our table, but if somebody out there, who has some design skills, already made cards – that would be awesome. 🙂

Hey guys, I’m very excited to start an online game of blades this week, however, we are stuck looking for a good fillable character sheet we can access online (ideally from mobile as well) Roll20 would work but its not the easiest to have as a quick lookup, and not accessible on mobile. Any suggestions or should I stop whining and start building a google docs sheet for this?

From the Lurk:

From the Lurk:

Ghost Veil: You may shift partially into the ghost field, becoming

shadowy and insubstantial for a few moments. Take 2 stress when

you shift, plus 1 stress for each extra feature: It lasts for a few minutes

rather than moments—you are invisible rather than shadowy—you

may float through the air like a ghost.

How would this work in combat? Could a lurk fade in and out of reality in combat. If so, anybody care to give my a guess at the mechanics of it?

I’m new to the game and have seen a couple posts that refer to co-GMing rules. I’ve searched around and can’t seem to find these in the book or in a PDF. It is very possible that I am overlooking something. Any help would be appreciated!

In a couple of weeks, I’ll try Blades in the Dark. I have one question, though, about Stress. Since Stress is only relieved during Downtime, isn’t it a bit too easy for a player to gain Trauma Conditions since he may start using Stress for all kinds of actions and considering they can also earn Stress during Downtime (in actions other than Vice) and during Freeplay? What is everyone’s experiences on this?

Hello Gamers!

Hello Gamers!

Hello Gamers! I’ve been watching and wanting to GM blades for a long time, but just now finally getting to be a player a bit before doing it myself… so Yay.. but I was wondering for when it my time… I get that the position should be set according to the fiction and all that and as the players choose to raise it, they have higher effects or consequences… etc… however, IS THERE an average number of actual “Desperate” rolls a player is allowed to have per game/score? I mean, we know balance is considered differently and all that compared to other systems, but is there a point where one person or the whole group having more than say… 75% percent, or more, of their rolls set in the desperate position and what that looks like if “risky” is usually the default? Is that like a fast game setting so that folks can get achievements faster and what happens to those who fall behind in getting ticks to get achievements also? I’m thinking about introducing this to my D&D group and know 2 of my powergamers are goinna “pull on this” before I even start… What were/are the expectations for “Leveling” by default? Thanks!

Does anyone have a template for the default playbooks or the default playbooks themselves in an editable (InDesign, Photoshop) format? I want to translate the sheets into Portuguese to make my game more accessible but have had no luck finding the files. I heard they were a backer reward but are they accessible at all now?
