Hey all I missed the kickstarter but am super interested in the blades of the jhereg. I’ve tried to email the developer multiple times but got no response. Anyone know when blades of the jhereg will be released?

Guys I need your help.

Guys I need your help.

Guys I need your help. I’m a novice GM do everything I try is a bit beyond my abilities. I’m not sure how to handle the engagement my party is about to do. Please advise on the following.

Bazso has tasked the team with assassinating a prominent new union boss because he’s Iruvian stirring up public sentiment in support of immigrant workers. Problem is, they’re also working with Mylera and she has asked them to secure her an ally against the Lampblacks, now that much of the Red Sashes treasury has been stolen (also by the party). The party wants to fake the union boss’s assassination, and use it to stage an actual assassination of Bazso himself. I…don’t know how to run this. They’ve already made contact with the would be target and he’s agreed to be part of their scheme. I could rewind and do that over as part of the engagement, I don’t think my players would mind. Any help would be hot. Game is tonight…

Hi, so I’m pretty new to Blades, but I have an idea for a vice that I’d like to talk about. Basically I’m thinking about having my character be a good guy deep down, and as a detective (a lurk, I’ve made him an ex-inspector), he’s going to find himself getting pulled into helping people and solving cases during downtime. Does that sound like it could work? Would the vice be obligation?

The idea is that he was kicked out of the inspectors, and set himself up as a private eye. He’s deeply into drugs at the moment, but if he gets cut off, I can see him turning to what he used to be addicted to; his work helping people.

Everyone’s been gushing about Scum & Villainy (for good reason), but I want to give a little love to Vigilantes.

Our crew just finished their first mission. They planned on having their Whisper’s possessor spirit contact (you know the one) possess the leader of the Fog Hounds, so she’d not harass the tavern that was giving help and jobs to Skovlan refugees.

They rolled a mixed result on engagement. Who ends up at the meeting with Whist, the Fog Hounds leader, but Master Creep (Oscarr Skurlock). Not a great thing to happen when you’re transporting a secret spirit inside one of your crew member’s bodies. Just when Oscar was about to bust the whole operation wide open, they cracked his spirit mask by “accident” and got him to leave by offering to help reconstruct the mask. Then Settara became fascinated with our own Whisper.

Our crew was really unprepared for how amicable Whist was. She seemed like such a nice, down to earth person. Two out of three of the crew decided to abandon the plan, but the Whisper carrying the spirit inside him went ahead anyway, and Whist became possessed as planned. Frog, Whist’s child spy, ended up being “adopted” by the crew, though he still doesn’t trust them.

Being able to throw one of the legendary Bloodletters at the crew and watch them circumvent him felt great and bolstered their reputation as Savvy quite a bit. Watching them abandon their plan when a gang leader wasn’t just a brutal monster showed that they’re still the good guys. When one followed through with the plan, it really developed the characters and created wonderful friction between them.

Our crew overcame great challenges flawlessly and the plan went off with barely a hitch, yet they still felt a bit guilty about it. The “good guys” spin on Blades as well as the great starting situation made this session and our characters come alive.

A Cult of Assassins?

A Cult of Assassins?

A Cult of Assassins? How would YOU build them? I ask because my players have shown an interest in it after revisting Skyrim and the Dark Brotherhood, so I’m looking for ideas/opinions/inspiration.

My fiancΓ© and I created Bethiel, Goddess of Assassins. Aso known as the Queen of Stilled Hearts and Matron of Unclosed Eyes. Rare is her blessing which requires the ritualistic suicide of the supplicant, by way of prayer and a special poison. At the hairs breath moment where the heart would beat its last, time stops and the assassin is judged. If worthy, their heart beats on, Bethel’s gifts now granted. If found wanting, the heart remains forerver still as time moves on, the petitioner’s soul taken to the Red Realm. It is believed the unworthy become Bloodshades, the spectral minions of Bethiel. It is considered a terrible fate.

Anyway, we’re still working on the gifts patronage grants, but so far we dig it.

Does someone know when the final version of Blades will be out on DriveThru?

Does someone know when the final version of Blades will be out on DriveThru? I think I’ve heard John Harper say something about a pdf release date (maybe in one of the online sessions) but I can’t find it!

Don’t want to seem impatient, I’m just planning to start a campaign very soon and I was wondering if I should just wait for the complete book πŸ™‚

Okay ladies and gents, I’ll be GMing next week and I’m wondering if anyone has any tips for planning a session or general advice? I’ve played within this group as a player, but we’re switching out GM’s so we can all play. Never GM’d before, so I’d be greatful for any advice πŸ™‚

I have a potential group for BitD that wants to have a funeral parlor as part of the set-up.

I have a potential group for BitD that wants to have a funeral parlor as part of the set-up. I know Doskvol is pretty much as you want it to be but with ghosts etc. I don’t know if the city has private undertakers or not.

Any thoughts about this?

This isn’t spamming but I felt it relevant and had to say, if you’re interested in Dishonored 2 and haven’t played…

This isn’t spamming but I felt it relevant and had to say, if you’re interested in Dishonored 2 and haven’t played it yet, do! The story, level design and breathtaking lore is incredible. I’m on my third run (trophy hunting!) and imagine a gloomier tone (no sun, mists, the wails of ghosts in the dark), giving me incredible inspiration for Blades. The powers have my mind reeling as to how they can fit as uses of Tempest or a ritual. There’s so much to steal whole-cloth and again, I can’t recommend it enough to get you more amped for Blades!

If any are interested in sharing things they enjoyed about it and how it can be Bladesy, please do. I’m putting a SPOILERS tag from here on as to not ruin it for others.

POTENTIAL SPOILERS BELOW!!! πŸ™‚
