I am finally getting my group to BitD. It’s a slow going and I really hope to keep up the momentum until we get to our first session.

Players decided to play a Hawkers game and I began to re-read the book. I like the option where Bazso gives Hawkers a product to sell. While the product that Bloodletters sold was just too awesome, I can’t replicate it but then it hit me. Bazso is part of that … society, so maybe he gets the new product from them? Perhaps it comes from Deathlands? I am still working on the effects, probably something eerie, maybe even beautiful until the crash comes.

Here’s the question. On page 305 there is a table of cults and cult practices. Is it intended to be read that cult and cult practice are on the same row or you just roll twice? I assume the former.

I recently finished a book that might work as an inspiration to BitD.

I recently finished a book that might work as an inspiration to BitD. It’s Blackwing by Ed McDonald. It has pretty many things in common with BitD setting but obviously there are differences as well.

It’s a fantasy setting with firearms, although they are lower tech than in BitD. People seems to be hard bastards and there is a blasted wasteland like in BitD. There are weird cults and scheming nobles with odd way to generate electricity.

The most striking difference is that it is not about criminals but rather mercenaries.

You can find it from Kindle store so you can get a free sample in case this got you interested.

This is more of a thought but I have been thinking about Blades Into the Badlands.

This is more of a thought but I have been thinking about Blades Into the Badlands. I recently watched 2nd season of Into the Badlands and I think Blades would work wonderfully and the hack could be pretty easy.

Cutters would be Clippers, obviously. There are smuggler gangs, weird cults and raiders. Baronies would need their own crew sheets or something.

What do you think?

I have been working on a short campaign for a shadow crew.

I have been working on a short campaign for a shadow crew. The basic idea behind the campaign is a feud between two minor noble houses. Both houses are pretty poor (comparatively) and their wealth comes from Leviathan hunting ships, obviously. The crew is probably associated with one of the houses in one way or the other.

How large fleets of Leviathan hunting ships minor noble houses are expected to have? Just one or half a dozen? I ask this because my gut feeling is that it might be just one and the “enemy” faction is just getting their second ship ready at some point in campaign.

Another question is what tier those houses should be? Does Tier II sound good?

There is a special ability ‘Renegades’ in Smugglers crew sheet.

There is a special ability ‘Renegades’ in Smugglers crew sheet.

There is a special ability ‘Renegades’ in Smugglers crew sheet. It allows +1 to one of the three actions listed. I suppose when the crew selects this special ability each character marks a dot to applicable action. Now, does everyone has to choose the same action to mark or is it OK if one character choose Finesse and another Prowl for example?

So, my players are thinking about selecting Smugglers crew.

So, my players are thinking about selecting Smugglers crew. I am not so sure how this kind of crew would work in this setting.

Do they smuggle something into the Doskvol (independently) or are those crews mostly intracity crews?

What their turf represent? Their warehouses?

I would think that smugglers mostly sell their products to other gangs like hawkers or to some select wealthy individuals rather than sell them at street corners.

Any ideas how this would work? Thanks!

I have a potential group for BitD that wants to have a funeral parlor as part of the set-up.

I have a potential group for BitD that wants to have a funeral parlor as part of the set-up. I know Doskvol is pretty much as you want it to be but with ghosts etc. I don’t know if the city has private undertakers or not.

Any thoughts about this?

Yesterday I had a chance to make some pregens for one-shot scenario.

Yesterday I had a chance to make some pregens for one-shot scenario. It went pretty well although to be honest I had bit of a problem to come up with heritage and background but nothing too big. Players will probably come up with better when that time comes 🙂 Otherwise character generation went really fast! I did four characters in less than 30 min which is great!

I have some questions about gear. How many playbook items you can choose? Are there any limitation to how many general items can be have at the character generation or is it just about choosing the load?
