What music have you been using for Blades lately?
For myself, I’ve been into the Sea of Thieves soundtrack for jaunty downtime fun, great atmosphere: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VLncnCk8540

I have a real love-hate relationship with naming crews, but I am very fond of our latest.
I have a real love-hate relationship with naming crews, but I am very fond of our latest. The detailed Crow’s Foot district map helped – knowing straight away that their hunting grounds was on Black Goat Road in the Devil’s Furnace really narrowed down the options.
Here’s a hasty hack based on a dumb idea; Dogs in the Bark, for Isle of Dogs style adventures in Doskvol.

Inspired by the preview of the awesome Coalridge detailed map used in the Bluecoats playtest, I decided to try making a detailed map of Crow’s Foot (since it’s the starting situation).
Zoom in for the details! You can get it from my Crow’s Foot folder if you want to use it: https://drive.google.com/open?id=16FTxODZKtLiWI0FlgyYde_B9vDLAp40Q

In honour of “Red Dead Redemption 2 trailer day”, here’s an update on Blood Red Clouds in the Western Sky, my deadwood/RDR/Blood Meridian inspired Forged in the Dark hack.
In this release there are action descriptions and the gang sheets (as well as the playbooks from last time). The gangs are Hired Guns, Outlaws, the Concern, and Revolutionaries.
I’ve also made some tweaks to the playbooks, particularly around making the game more deadly; removing heavy armour and adding in a “complication clock” to level 2 & 3 harm, giving the GM another lever to escalate harm (e.g. blood loss, infected wound, dehydration, fever, etc). Burdens have also been changed from the standard Traumas.
Your feedback/thoughts more than welcome!

The third and final gang-headquarters visual aid for the Blades starting situation – the Crow’s Nest. From the book:
“An ancient tower from before the cataclysm that has been a ritual sanctum, an astronomer’s laboratory, and a Bluecoat watch post—before its current role as the headquarters of the district’s chief gang, the Crows.”
(obviously I photobashed this image from the clock tower in Thief).

In my continuing quest to find a good map format for more open-ended games like Blades in the Dark, here’s an attempt at the Lampblacks HQ. This is intended as a creative prompt and visual aid more than a definitive map. A place to put character-tokens and clocks rather than a strict guide as to what rooms there are or what the scale is. It also gives the players something immersive to look at if you play in Roll20 or similar.

It started because I wanted to explore how breechloading firearms might look in a more mid-late 19th century brute-industrial style (rather than the more baroque look they usually have), and it got away from me…
