It’s a more modern setting but also has a world recovering from a magical cataclysm, falling into the ghost version of the city, artefact heists and soul-stuff scams. Recommended!
(This is actually the sixth book set in that world, but although the others are great they didn’t seem to call out to Blades so much).

So, a big score. Lots of rep, a fair bit of heat.Entanglement roll: Arrest. They bribed the bluecoats, so that’s fine.
Then, the cutter decides to clear heat as a downtime action. With the hound, they track down the inspector who was behind the arrest warrant: “We grab him, pull him into an alley and beat the crap out of him.” It was pretty successful! For clearing heat right now, that is. I sure hope Inspector Kinlaith isn’t the sort to hold a grudge!

I played a one shot using the new quickstart last night.
I played a one shot using the new quickstart last night. It was good fun, with our crew fanning the flames of the war between the Lampblacks and Red Sashes in the hope that both gangs would end up wrecked. They finished up by stealing some Lampblacks turf in a brutal takedown.
I was pleased by how well the plan mechanics flowed, and despite a few hiccups as we tried to work out other details, the rest hung together as well.
I’m looking forward to running a longer game, although probably won’t have a chance soon (currently at 1943 in a Night Witches game, and next chunk of our One Ring campaign will be up next).
