Hi all, I only just heard about this game a few days ago and quickly picked up the early access from DriveThruRPG. I’ve read through the PDF once and am busy with my second read now.

I will be the GM for the game and I suspect I’ll have a ton of questions, but here is my first:

When choosing a load for an operation, does the character have the items listed on his character sheet (next to strange friends) PLUS items to the right of that, listed as load 3 light etc.

Or do you need to select 3, 5 or 6 from both lists?

I’m feeling a little overwhelmed, it’s very different to D&D 5E that I’ve been running since it came out.

Thanks in advance!

  1. Your player picks a load, light normal or heavy. The score starts. The player ends up in a situation where they want guns, they tick the box on their sheet for pistols and voila they have pistols and have used one of their load.

Items in italics are things the character always has access to and don’t count towards total load. Each score you pick load again and start from scratch. The players can pick from the section directly under the playbook (these are playbook specific items) and the list to the right (general items the same for everyone) they could also acquire new assets in down time to add to the potential list of things they bring if they wanted to.

The important thing to remember is it’s fiction first and the system encourages it, your players sitting around debating what they should bring slows the whole thing down. Instead they’re badass blades so of course when they get to a safe they remembered to bring burglary gear. Why wouldn’t they?
