The new harm rules have really hit a sweet spot I think. The choice between taking stress and taking harm felt quite strategic and the narrative harm mechanic worked very well for us.

The new tables and layout felt very easy to use. Downtime was quick and no fuss, but still punctuated with interesting choices. The new action table results felt just right. The listed consequences and opportunities for escalation all worked really well.

Can’t wait to play again!

  1. Craig Vial for sure man. This was actually our face to face group, but I’d be very keen to run something online again soon.

  2. Dan Hall ah, I gotcha. I’ve been kinda plotting to run something on my return, maybe Dungeon World. I’m just as keen to play, though.

I’ll post something in a week, we”ll figure it out from there.

  3. One thing that happened when I played Blades with you a while back, we were working on a job and fictionally, we had done everything, but there was still a piece of the clock unfilled. We ummed and ahhed for a few moments, then said stuff it and just moved on.

It wasn’t a big deal, but it felt weird. Has a bit more experience with the system or any changes in the updates helped with this, has it ever come up again?

  4. Craig Vial yes, there’s been some changes to how effects fill up clocks now. It’s all narratively determined rather than a dice roll, so those sorts of situations shouldn’t come up any more.
