My players just got one of them engaged to a minor noble for political reasons. the catch – said player wasn’t there. He is going to find out he is engaged when the bride will swing the lair’s door and demand to know if they are the ones who burned down the local church (they where) and where her dear vampire groom is (right here, say hey!)

Brainstorm – why the lightning walls of the empire’s capital went out and where is the fucking immortal emperor?

Brainstorm – why the lightning walls of the empire’s capital went out and where is the fucking immortal emperor?

Lately, I felt like my campaign is having a minor existential crisis – the characters got almost too powerful to touch, they’ve destroyed their enemies and accomplished most of their goals, and now they mostly just strolling around in undead hedonism and doing mad experiments. It’s fun, but not like it used to be.

So, naturally, I’ve initiated the end of the world:

In the end of last session they heard the news – the capital is down, the Emperor is missing, and the highest ranking persona in the Empire is on his way to duskvol with his pleasure cruise for a pre-arranged festival.

I’m delighted to say it worked like dark magic – they immediately decided to steal said person’s soul, replace it with their dead slide’s soul, and TAKE OVER THE SHATTERED WORLD. I love my players.

NOW: can you tell me, dear scoundrels, WHY did it happened? I don’t know, and most of the rumors I’ve invented on the spot don’t make any sense.

So…

What happened to the capital? Where is the Emperor? How come the Last Cardinal and his pleasure cruise escaped the fall?

A quick question – shouldn’t the full vampire playbook overview have a section discussing the dark servants?

(my spider just became a vampire, and I’ve been laughing when it became apparent every vampire automatically gets weird cultistslaves to answer every whim. it’s such a great feature, he’ll be delighted to learn he gets another one for free now that we’re switching to the full game)

Another vampire question from my players:

Another vampire question from my players:

Another vampire question from my players:

“What is the difference between “vicious” and “ruthless” ? They appear independently as Vampire traumas. In particular, could you ask for an example of an action that would be considered “vicious” but not “ruthless”?

Ok, character goal update & questions:

Ok, character goal update & questions:

* The spider is now a vampire, hurray!

1. John Harper, what’s up with the vampire XP triggers? “display your dominance or.”? is that a mistake?

* The slide want to make Bazo’s spirit into a hull. Reviling he is a ghost made old grudges resurface. Good for him (trying to go head to head with the reconciled will be interesting) Also, he is no longer in jail or in the spirit warden captivity. Things are about to get even more stupid insane then usual

2. What did you use in your games as the secret to the reconciled unmadness? I’m thinking human sacrifice, dark god blessing andor (un)MAD SCIENCE, but I’m open to suggestions.

3. Can someone link me to one of the good old hull discussions? I’m not sure how to go about it beyond the general “make a long term project that lead to a score”

*The whisper starts to write pro-souls and anti-church propaganda pamphlets as a vice. I can’t wait for an overindulgence…

*The leech found a goal in his life. he want to create mind-controlled leviathan-blood-corrupted- mutant- super-soldiers. Have I mentioned he was kicked out of medical studies for failing the ethical comity? he was the first student to do so for non-political reasons in the last hundred years or so. Also, his lab rat multiply by dividing in half, and just might start a plague if released.

I love Wednesday nights.

CLARIFICATION: Question 1 is for John, the rest are for everyone

My player’s current goals:

My player’s current goals:

My player’s current goals:

spider – to became a vampire (step 1 achieved – he is dead now)

slide – to die (telling my players about the post-death playbooks made them unbelievably suicidal, and they were never very careful)

hound – to marry his nemesis

leech – I’m not sure and I’m the frigging GM

whisper – to burn down a local church

lurk – to find, tame and ride ghost horse I’ve mentioned once AS PART OF A RUNNING GAG

Your game is weird John, the good kind of weird.

Here is the second episode of my bunch of madman’s adventures, now from the slide’s point of view:

Hey John Harper, I’ve translated to Hebrew the rule reference page and the playbooks for a Con game I’m running tomorrow. Can I upload them to the internet for the role-play community here to see?

So, Law of the Dark, blades hack for Craft sequence inspired game were the law is dark magic, you pay for stuff with pieces of your soul and gods are basically big corporations of faith. It’s a thing.

I’ve pretty much forgotten about it, until Ганс Андроид awoke me from my dogmatic slumber and remind me I have a game to hack.

So, here are the news:

* There are five (almost) finished playbooks: The Archivist, The Attorney, The Trickster, The Warden, and The Theologian. There are three unwritten playbooks: The Investigator (a detective, noir style) The Herald (basically a journalistbloggerbard) and The Wretched (a vampire, or some other debt ridden unperson).

* I’ve written a basic description of the setting (it’s not exactly the sequence, more like a sequence fan-fiction, hopefully in a good way). the main extra features – 1. the hack’s default city is called Babylon and they are building space elevator to harvest starlight 2. there is internet now, it’s powered by dead gods and accessed by praying to dead gods.

* there is a draft for justice system game system and atmosphere. It’s basically the heist rolls as written, but instead of picking a plan and a detail, you pick a client, a goal, and a plan. it’s basically the same.

* there is a glossary page, for glossary.

* The Attorney have now horrible coffee in his spacial equipment list, it’s probably temporary.

* The Theologian have now impressive ceremonial headgear in his spacial equipment list, it’s defiantly permanent.

here is the system document:
