This system seems perfect for a modern Hunter / Supernatural-style playset. White Wolf’s injury system is a bit too harsh; the mechanics of Stress and Trauma would be perfect for much more durable and badass characters.

As a GM or player, what are some techniques you use to make actions taken against inert objects, e.g. a lock or a hidden panel, feel cool? Exciting?

I wondered, what is the actual name of the world Duskwall, Akoros and those shattered island are placed upon?

Another thing I wondered about,.. Band of Blades is marked as a separate setting. It occurred to me that it might fit in to describe troopes being out and trying to regain land, fight the evil spirits or establish a new city? Which then again left me wondering a bit how big the islands are. ^^

I imagined them to stretch at the very least over the size of Belgium and the Netherlands combined, maybe even bigger (Germany? France?) though they may as well be a lot smaller..

In college, I worked pretty seriously on a game based on the Vlad Taltos books of Steven Brust, around 1991-92. I was corresponding with Brust regularly, and I thought I might have a shot at working out a publishing deal. He ultimately decided to go with Steve Jackson Games, who managed a first draft of a GURPS Jhereg book but never took it any further. My version used the core Action Table system from Talislanta, and was honestly a pretty boring stat+skill+dice affair. Better than GURPS, but that’s not saying much.
