Starting Stress Boxes Reference?

Where in Blades v8 does it actually state that characters have 9 stress boxes to start?

I’ve managed to pick it up by inference from descriptions of The Hound’s Survivor ability and from looking at character sheets in a separate document (Blade v8 sheets), that I didn’t have to begin with, but I don’t actually see it discussed anywhere in the rule book.

Did I miss it?

Don’t know if this is the right place to be putting this either but to hell with it, I get +1d for pure luck right? 😛

I can’t find something similar in v8. Did this disappear?

Is it in setting Effect? (fists Limited, dagger Standard, sword Great?) That doesn’t seem to be the case.

Related – how are folks setting the level of threat of an enemy, like a standard thug? A 2-clock for such an enemy?

Thoughts? And thanks!

I’m a little surprised there isn’t a downtime reference sheet. Do you just use the pdf pages as a reference?
