Have a question: We are working on character creation using the early access PDF and are confused. The character creation guide says we get 4 action points total, however each playbook has what looks like 3 action points already assigned.

So, the question is, do we get 4 in addition to these or are those three action points merely examples of what might be good for your character?

Thanks in advance!

There is a special ability ‘Renegades’ in Smugglers crew sheet. It allows +1 to one of the three actions listed. I suppose when the crew selects this special ability each character marks a dot to applicable action. Now, does everyone has to choose the same action to mark or is it OK if one character choose Finesse and another Prowl for example?

So I don’t see where the crew advancement conditions are in the early access.

So I don’t see where the crew advancement conditions are in the early access. It alludes to it but doesn’t actually list what actions constitute gaining crew exp that I can see.

How do you use cohorts?

How do you use cohorts?

How do you use cohorts?

I figured they get an action related to their field in downtime “off camera” generally a roll equated to their quality (which makes them rather weak in the early stages). Then we spotted “All Hands” in the smugglers crewsheet which means the above is actually a playbook ability.

So, outside of the obvious thugs helping you gain scale in a fight, how do you use cohorts and how do you apply them to actions outside of a score?

Out group also wanted a leech working fulltime – is a character sheet created with the full benefits of the character (along with LTP and other DT actions) or do the players get to tap the leech npc for specific things in certain ways?

Engagement Roll v8

I’m doing my final passes on a lot of stuff right now, in preparation for my hand-off to Evil Hat. As I was tightening the edit on the engagement roll, this even more streamlined version suddenly hit me. I think it’s pretty darn good. What do you think?

(Edit: Here’s the next spread, too, which may help clear up some extra details: https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B7Y3ZE1Ar-fDRko2RkFhZmdkRm8/view?usp=sharing)

Game Structure

Here’s a preview from the book regarding game structure. This is something that a lot of you have given feedback on, so I thought you might like to see how the general overview looks. Of course, I go into more detail for each phase further on, but hopefully this is a good starter to set the right expectations.

Sorry for a dumb question, but are character/crew booklets downloadable from anywhere as a separate file that I could distribute among my players? Seems like I can’t find any.

Question: How do vampire special abilities work?

Question: How do vampire special abilities work?

Question: How do vampire special abilities work?

Example: A vampire PC uses Terrible Power! Stress spent. At that point, does the narrative description happen, or is a appropriate skill rolled (and the use of terrible power allows it to be rolled where a human could otherwise not have been able to do said roll at all)

Example 2: Arcane Sight is used! does this just happen, or is an appropriate skill roll again paired with it.

Example 3: Void Echo is used! Does the vampire have to roll prowl, or does the super stealth just happen?

Answer would be most appreciated.

Yesterday I had a chance to make some pregens for one-shot scenario.

Yesterday I had a chance to make some pregens for one-shot scenario. It went pretty well although to be honest I had bit of a problem to come up with heritage and background but nothing too big. Players will probably come up with better when that time comes 🙂 Otherwise character generation went really fast! I did four characters in less than 30 min which is great!

I have some questions about gear. How many playbook items you can choose? Are there any limitation to how many general items can be have at the character generation or is it just about choosing the load?
