Generally any questions I’ve had so far have been resolved by watching Roll play blades.

On week 2 on roll play blades, they had a fairly in depth roll played down time, which was cool. I’m guessing it’s normally a lot shorter than that, unless there is specific stuff players want to role play out in depth. I’ll leave it to them as to what they want to do and how in detail they want to go. But would you normally mark xp at the end of a downtime? or just at the end of a score, or include the downtime in the xp mark off from the next score?

Hey guys, 2 quick leech related questions:

Do the consequences suffered from volatile poisons and drugs occur on any roll, or just on 4-5 results and lower?

Also, the leech has a blow gun and darts/syringes as part of his equipment. My leech uses them to deliver standstill powder to unsuspecting guards at range. Do you guys think this is a valid use of the item? I’m on the fence and would like to know what others think.

Thanks!

How does Not To Be Trifled With (Cutter special ability) interact with devil’s bargains? As I understand it, you cannot both push yourself and take a devil’s bargain on the same roll – but somehow it feels wrong, because the situations involving Not To Be Trifled With are usually rife with opportunities for fun bargains.

I have a couple questions about early (v3) versus final version (v8) models of the game. I eagerly read the first playtest and kicked the tires with some friends, but didnt follow along with all the changes through playtesting.

1) What happened to “On Point” and “backup” roles during a Score? We rather enjoyed that procedural mechanic at the time, was it deemed too restrictive to the fiction in the final version?

2) I remember some talk about rotating the GM’s role during gameplay (related to the On Point role), so that 5 players might all have active characters, and the role of GM was fluid. The On-point player may take their action, then move to the GM role for a round, etc. We were very excited by the prospect of a fully collaborative game. Will there be hack or add-on support for this style of gameplay in the future?

Thanks. Ive read the final rules, I’m gathering my crew of players, hoping to get my first session in the coming weeks 😀

Alright, riddle me this :

Alright, riddle me this :

One of my players wanted to play an illusionist in Duskwall.

My gut reaction was that there isn’t really such a thing in the world of Blades in the Dark as far as I can tell, so I suggested that she could play a Spider and create her illusions through the power of Flashbacks à la [Now You See Me](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Now_You_See_Me_(film))

We agreed on that method, but I can tell that her heart wasn’t really in it, so I’m wondering how you folks would recommend we handle illusion magic in the world of Blades In The Dark?

Thoughts?

Just watching episode 11 of Rollplay Blades.

Just watching episode 11 of Rollplay Blades. Miss Cataby used her Sharpshooter ability to lay down a barrage of supressive fire, but failed the roll. So I have 2 questions:

1. Why did the barrage still work?

2. Why were there no consequences for the 2 that was rolled?

When you take a playbook advancement and gain a special ability are you restricted to your playbooks options?

When you take a playbook advancement and gain a special ability are you restricted to your playbooks options?

When you take a playbook advancement and gain a special ability are you restricted to your playbooks options? For example, can a Hound take a Spider ability… or is he restricted to Hound?

I haven’t been able to find an answer in the book… maybe I’m blind.

Are Hulls and Vampires supposed to have different item lists?

Are Hulls and Vampires supposed to have different item lists?

Are Hulls and Vampires supposed to have different item lists? They both are inexplicably missing demolition supplies and the lantern from their item lists.

Is the Hull supposed to have a Heavy load of 7?

Also when comparing the Ghost and Hull playbooks, the Hull playbook appears to be missing the line “When you would take trauma, take wear instead”. The instruction appears in the playbook detail within the text, but is probably worth mentioning (like how it appears on the Ghost playbook).

And the missing heading on the Ghost playbook (which used to say to transfer Ghost abilities) threw a player for a loop. Probably just going to bother me, since I know the abilities Do get transferred, but I figure it’s worth mentioning if nothing else.

EDIT: oh snap. noticed Vampires and Hulls have the old set of armor boxes too. (1 for light, +2 for heavy). Looks like some of the old sheets made their way into 8.1’s sheets document.

I will report these issues in the typos thing if that’s the right place for this
