New campaign idea: Blades in the Dark, except it’s cyberpunk, except it’s not really Cyberpunk, it’s Batman Beyond (AKA Batman of the Future, AKA the most underrated Batman story of all time.) But the PCs don’t know that until their criminal enterprise starts getting broken up by the Bat.

Only at the end do I tell them the game’s called A Superstitious, Cowardly Lot…

For those of you who have been watching John Harper’s Bloodletters series on YouTube, any recommended starting points if I wanted to limit myself to examples of play that roughly match the final rule set?

I’m wanting to watch it played to help my understanding of the system and I’m aware that the game has gone through so much iteration that the first episode of the series may be using drastically different rules to the ones that were published.

I’m new to Blades (still on my first read-through), but I have to say, I LOVE the presentation of the Actions section. The way the writing invites you to jump around and see the interconnectedness of the approaches is unique and inspiring.

I’ve seen that some of the random twists for game setups can involve train travel. I would be interested to hear how the folks on this forum have handled train travel. Where did you have your game go to? Did you get off the train? Treat it like a Murder on the Orient (Iruvian?) Express scenario where the adventure is on the train?

Let me know what you thought!

It’s a more modern setting but also has a world recovering from a magical cataclysm, falling into the ghost version of the city, artefact heists and soul-stuff scams. Recommended!

(This is actually the sixth book set in that world, but although the others are great they didn’t seem to call out to Blades so much).

Just sharing my Roll20 desktops (inspired by others posted here). My group is new to the game, and online play, and there was some complaint about getting lost in all the open windows, so I made a desktop for scores and another for downtime.

I’m curious how higher level harm taken from Command, Consort, Sway, Study, and Survey rolls could carry over and effect subsequent scores…
