Another reminder before this website dies to follow my Pinterest for great Blades inspiration (go to my D&D board), in addition to a sub-board for other tabletop RPGs like Stars Without Number and Dungeon World. Please enjoy all the pictures I have on there, may they bring you dark and sinister ideas. >:)

Ok so soon I will be DMing my first ever Blades campaign.
Ok so soon I will be DMing my first ever Blades campaign. To be honest I’m nervous because I don’t want to be judged for a different or inexperienced style, and I don’t want to run a shitty campaign. I want everyone to feel included and to enjoy writing a beautiful and interesting story along with me. I’ve had experiences in the past with groups that eventually aren’t fun to be in anymore. Every time I went to go to DnD I was excited but I also felt so insecure and uncomfortable because I just got judged the entire time for being inexperienced, or for literally anything I did. They would purposefully not respond to cues my character gave that I wanted to do something, for example I made letters and sealed them with wax with important pieces of the backstory of my character and they were left out in her room. Every time I mentioned they were there they ignored it to piss me off. I got shit on all the time for the videos I enjoyed on YouTube, and I got shit on for not shitting on others. That will not happen again. Everyone in my group will be excited to come to DnD, and will get to enjoy the company of everyone around them. So I want to ask you all for some help. If anyone has any tips or suggestions for DMing a Blades game specifically, like how to spice up a session, how to deal with “effect” for various rolls, how to give freedom to the players without letting them go freaking crazy and mess something up, I’m open to any tips or suggestions specifically for Blades since it’s such a unique game. Thank you all for being a kind group of people I can get help from when I need it, and share art or ideas when I have them. β€οΈ

Concept for the leader of the faction The Unseen named “The Tower” done with gold paint sharpie and Tombow markers. I imagine they keep their anonymity through masks since they can attune to see one another’s true identity, and I love Venetian Carnival masks so here we are. She would wear the clothes from the digital painting (not mine I wish!) and the mask from my drawing. I am going to work on the captain next. π
Hi all! So a while ago I experimented with fun wax-sealed envelopes, even though I used regular candle wax In order to forward the story. Soon I will be a DM and I had a super cool idea you are all welcome to use if it suits your fancy. At the beginning of a session after a full score has been completed, rather than telling your PCs what new options are available to them through different gangs, why not have a job offer or a lead from gangs each in their own envelope? At the beginning of the session you set the envelopes out on the table and they get to decide which one they pick for that session. It is up to you whether or not you reveal which gang sent which envelope. I thought it would be fun and now I have real sealing wax so I am super pumped! Enjoy!

A character I started and never finished, anyone who wants to use him is more than welcome!
A character I started and never finished, anyone who wants to use him is more than welcome!!!! I thought it would be cool to have a retired Leviathan Hunter, way past his prime but still incredibly strong and burly. Messy sea-farer hair paired with a scraggly beard and some facial scars. I had him as a cutter, his vice was working on the docks and his weapon, I made it a special weapon, is a quad-hook attached to a long iron chain. About 6’4″ and I had him under the alias of βHookEyeβ, although his real name was Vilgard. I never ironed out his personality, so it is up to whoever wants to use him what kind of a person they want him to be. Heβs the first male character Iβve ever made/drawn and Iβm really proud of him. (I had great reference pictures, especially one by LordMishKin on deviant art). I hope you can enjoy using him if you want, and you can tell me how it goes! π

Character design originally used for another tabletop RPG, Stars Without Number, but her design could be used in blades too. Daughter of a drug queen Ms. Sakamoto, destined to take over the business and lives a life pressured by her mother. Her brother didn’t prove himself worthy to take over the business because he wouldn’t kill, so he is now a low ranking drug trafficker, banned from speaking to my character, and his sister, Kuro. She was a sniper, so she could be a hound here. I liked her design a lot, and as always you are all welcome to use her as an NPC or for inspiration or whatever! π Enjoy
ps: I always had this lovely image of her burning the drug mansion her mom lived in as revenge for the horrible treatment her mother gave to her. As she walks up to her mother stuck under debris in the burning building, her mother holding out her hand, her mother says “Save me! Everything you are is because of me!” Kuro stares down at her, shakes her head no, and says only one word… “Burn….”
