  1. I think it might depend on what it is they are trying to accomplish, too. But I’m definitely with Adam Schwaninger; if it seems they are just looking for extra dice, I would go with a stiff Devil’s Bargain.

  2. I would say they are usually a power player. To keep being a yes GM I am going to say Yes! For action rolls. And others will be a stiff devil’s bargain. Thank you all for the insight. Adam Schwaninger , Brandon Perkins , Jakob Oesinghaus

  3. Not an official ruling by any means, but on the Youtube Stardancer sessions, I recall Sean Nitter using a gambit during downtime with Stras (one of the authors) as the GM. “Your GM is the final arbirter, YMMV, etc.”

  4. Question is why not? If they ended the session with some left then why rob them of their use? They already went through a tougher session by not using them as well as reset next job. The 1st rule of GMing is be a fan of the players. If they want to spend the resources they have earned then let them. So what if they get an extra tick on a clock or aquire a more powerful asset.

  5. Gambits are for action rolls (you can’t push for downtime rolls forex). There’s a big section in both Blades and SaV where they talk about how downtime is a different phase (they’re more akin to fortune rolls with specific rules). But if you’re in free play and need to roll some actions—go for it! And as always – good advice here (figure out how you feel about it, YMMV etc).
