Hi all-

Hi all-

Hi all-

A few weeks ago, I posted some playbooks for a modern heist / crime hack. One problem was the name — One Last Job — was already taken by a different RPG. So, I need a new name…

Crewbooks include: Scoundrels in Suits (ocean’s 11), Disposable Heros (mercenaries / operatives for hire), Syndicate (a criminal organization), and Vagabonds (wandering thieves or vigilantes with a schtick).

Does “Sinners, Swag, and Smoking Guns” work? Other thoughts?

  1. Personally I think it’s to long, or better as a undertitle. I think the genre is usually either one or two concepts in the name, and Lock, Stock and two smoking barrels is an anomaly (and really one concept):

Rock n’Rollas, Resoivoir Dogs, Pulp Fiction, Oceans Eleven, The Sting, The Heist, Four Brothers, Point Break, The Italian Job, Inside Man, Bad Santa, etc …

  2. Michael Esperum Agreed — The challenge is that the crew books tweak the rules to allow everything from Ocean’s 11, to the A-Team, to Mission Impossible.

  3. One Last Job is a damn fine game. I really want to play it as a group of retired superheroes, reunited for one last job to save the world.

    Anyway – my suggestions:

    *Deeds in the Dark

    *Dark and Dirty

    *Crime Does Pay

    *When a Plan Comes Together

  4. I liked Benjamins and Bullet Holes and One More (Night)/Kick, but Deeds in the Dark and Crime Does Pay are my favorites, even though When a Plan Comes Together has a suggestive allure and a bit of playstyle-instruction?

  5. I also like Disposable Heroes, but it doesn’t really fit the criminal crew types..

    Bright Lights, Dirty Deeds

    Marks & Mayhem

    Life of Crime

    Best Laid Plans

    One More Job

  6. How about something that says “Heist”, but also plays with the trope of every Heist going wrong:

    Without a Hitch

    Easy Money

We Get In, We Get Out (or In and Out)

    Like Clockwork (maybe too Steampunk)

    They’ll Never See It Coming

  7. I was leaning towards Best Laid Plans, but I really like Easy Money. It fits the “Live Fast, Die Young” vibe that I’m shooting for. Of course, Live Fast, Die Young could be a good name too…
