A clarification about Entanglements when the Crew is Tier 0 AND they’ve chosen the Slippery Special Ability.

A clarification about Entanglements when the Crew is Tier 0 AND they’ve chosen the Slippery Special Ability. It seems you roll 2 dice and pick the lowest twice. Offering them the lowest roll from each set to pick from?

For some reason the above solution doesn’t sit well with me. Perhaps it’s just because the lowest number isn’t always the best / most interesting / what works story wise.

I think it may be best if I go with: “The GM might sometimes want to choose an entanglement instead of rolling. In that case, they’ll choose two and you can pick between them.”

  1. You are correct (in my interpretation) on how Slippery works when you’re at Wanted 0 (not Tier 0, but I assume you meant to write Wanted instead of Tier). In theory at least, lower numbers are better when it comes to entanglements.

But as you have seen, often it is most appropriate to pick an entanglement instead of rolling because it just fits the fiction perfectly. I think “GM chooses two, crew picks” seems like a good way not invalidate Slippery in this case.
