Has anyone ever statted up a Railjack as a PC?

Has anyone ever statted up a Railjack as a PC? I’ve got a player jumping in for just one session, and I’m thinking of giving him a Jack who happens to be helping the PCs with a ghost problem. I suppose Whisper will work as a base, but is there anything special I should throw in for him? The only thing that occurs is the suit. What special ability would be the best fit?

  1. Ah, additionally: We’ll be deciding between two possible scores for this session. If the ring-in player isn’t a Railjack, he’ll be an Inkrake embedded with the crew for an espionage mission. Suggestions also welcome for that possible character (probably a Slide, I’m thinking ).

  2. Obviously the Warded whisper ability (special armour to resist supernatural consequence). Other abilites that might be fun;

    – Ghost Fighter (from Cutter – if they’re a veteran jack)

    – Mule (from Cutter – to represent a diving-suit-wearing working joe, laden with heavy gear)

    – Leader (from Cutter – Railjacks work in teams and it feels like they should be teamwork experts)

    – Survivor (from Hound – +1 stress box for obvious reasons)

    When I think of what makes a Railjack cool it’s some combination of Whisper-like weirdness but also that they’re a hard-schlepping bluecollar worker; that’s why I like the idea of throwing in a bunch of Cutter abilities, to ground them. The Railjack equipment is also part of what makes them special, so I’d replace the Whisper items with something like;

    – Heavy lightning hook (requires fuel)

    – Breather-mask and goggles

    – Electroplasmic fuel cannister (4 uses)

    – Spirit bottles (2)

    – Lightning web thrower (requires fuel)

    – Electro-field suit (requires fuel)

  3. Tim Denee Any thoughts on the Inkrake? The context is that they’ve been asked to get dirt on a particular character to discredit them. They’ll most likely be acting undercover.

  4. Saul Alexander I think you’re right that a Slide is the right fit there, although I’d borrow a bunch of Spider stuff too. In particular:

    – Connected (+1 to downtime actions; I’d encourage them to use in flashbacks during the score if they’re only playing one session)

    – Weaving the Web

    And Spider equipment probably fits better than Slide;

     Fine cover identity

     Fine bottle of whiskey

     Blueprints (maybe make this “satchel full of relevant articles from the archive” or something like that? basically a bunch of old newspaper articles they’ve brought along in case they’re relevant)

     Vial of slumber essence

     Concealed palm pistol

     Spiritbane charm
