I’ve got a friend who does graphic design for a living, and she’s got access to a printer that can do 13×19 posters! She did me a favor and printed up this beautiful bad boy, and even gave it a sepiatone effect for good measure 😀

I talked to my FLGS today and their distributor is listing them as in the brick and mortar on May 16 (in America, Oregon to be specific). Just anecdotal evidence for the others on here like me who didn’t buy through Backerkit.

Kind of unrelated, but if you like John Harper’s other game, Lasers & Feelings, A Point of Inspiration on Facebook just put out a Gothic fantasy hack for the game.
Has anyone attempted an asynchronous game over Discord or some other chat app?
Has anyone attempted an asynchronous game over Discord or some other chat app? For people who can’t commit to a set time, but who are in front of a computer all workday and capable of popping in and out of a chat. I’d think this would allow for the crosstalk the game needs while mitigating some of the slowness of traditional pbp. Thoughts?
Glow in the Dark: Robots and Monkeys Session 0
Glow in the Dark: Robots and Monkeys Session 0
Had a good survivor/tribe creation session with Thomas Berton and Jason Eley last night for my Relics tribe playtest! The as-yet-unnamed settlement has sprouted up around Jason’s Leftover’s spaceship crash site. Thomas’ Shark, Tuesday Grace, spun a web of lies to her small group of refugees about being an engineer and knowing all about the World That Was, so we’ve got a charlatan and an actual Charlton Heston-style astronaut-out-of-time. Logan Shoup will join us in 2 weeks as well for our starting situation (and finalizing names for stuff).
The guys really went for all the robot choices when it came to contacts and factions, and their settlement has a farm, bootstrapped by seeds stolen from the Ape Empire’s fertile valley.
From a playtest perspective, I’ve got a lot of conceptual blanks for Relics that, while I’ve got lots of touchstones in my head, I’m not sure which ones deserve to be put to paper yet. We’ll find out.

I tried my hand at a Faction tonight!
I tried my hand at a Faction tonight! Specifically, I rolled at random to see what Factions should be at odds in my initial situation, and I got the Ink Rakes/Cyphers/Wraiths… but those first two don’t have write-ups in the book. Rather than shrug and roll again, I put my scoundrel hat on and dove in.
Here’s my rendition of giving the Ink Rakes some nuance as a legitimate, albeit shady, newspaper and magazine empire.
——————
INK RAKES (Tier II)
The exploitative, sensationalist news and magazine holdings of industrialist/populist Wester Haig.
Turf: printing houses up and down Ink Lane, a three story office building in Charterhall (HQ), street corners throughout Doskvol
NPCs: Wester Haig (Akorosi self-made magnate; obsessive, transgressive), Una Grine (star rake; cutthroat, charming)
Notable Assets: enthusiastic citywide readership, loyalty of the working class, expansive quality presses for printing the news (and more), dedicated cohorts of street muscle & grifters
Quirks: Favored Ink Rakes use Whispers and Ghost Keys to witness incriminating incidents from within the Ghost Field.
Allies: Cabbies, Gondoliers, Dockers, Rail Jacks
Enemies: Cyphers, Skovlander Refugees, City Council, rival newspapers
Situation: Wester Haig is looking to expand the already successful operations of the Ink Rakes. His boys have begun claiming corners where they can, covering lots of ground with the help of a sympathetic working class, disgruntled with other elitist sheets. He now has an idea to cement his readerships’ interest: mixing distilled spirit essences into his newspaper Ink, indulging his readers’ desire to “feel like they’re really there.” Then it will be time to give his rivals the spike.
Clocks:
• Acquire a Spirit Essence Supplier – 4
• Seize the street corners of his rivals – 4 (repeating)
Blades of New Crobuzon – progress update #9: COMPLETE (for now)
Blades of New Crobuzon – progress update #9: COMPLETE (for now)
Yup, here’s v1.0 of Blades of New Crobuzon, all shiny and hot off the presses, ready for all y’all to get your grubby (digital) mitts all over it.
Future developments: I intend to write up a starting situation at some point (the arrangement of certain factions is already pointing me in one of two directions for that), and I also want to get some more factions in there (New Crobuzon’s big, so at the moment it feels a little empty still – however, I didn’t necessarily want to go inventing stuff whole cloth for this version).
As always, two page viewing is recommended!

Here you go! All eight classes (maybe I’ll do the Adepta Sororitas in the future, they are quite narrow but a huge favorite of mine).
Coming next is the “crew” sheet with the rules for tier, reputation and suspicion. Also, a table with the Imperial Divinations 🙂
Please feel free to leave comments and tell me what you think! Hopefully someone will find this useful 😀
