Can someone explain what the benefit is of the Smugglers Crew move, “Like Part of the Family” – particularly what you get out of designing your vehicle like a Cohort? How do you use it – I’m assuming you don’t use Command like you do with a regular Cohort?

  1. i’d actually argue because it IS a cohort, that command might work. (Additionally, the ability Leadership would become involved w/ the vehicle). Also, by making it part of the cohort group, it become affected quality wise by crew-tier. As Parker mentioned, the edges/flaws make it a lot easier to work with for having the vehicle “be a thing” in scene. So clocks/consequences involving the vehicle can be more detailed as compared to another crews version of “carriage/boat” where it probably… just breaks (or something similar).

  2. A cohort can participate in a group action. You’re not Commanding the vehicle, you’re participating with it — so you’ll often use Finesse (for driving) and also roll the Quality of the vehicle in the group action. It gives you a boost to your roll outcomes, essentially.

Plus the edges, as has been said.
