So you can make your own drugs, right?

So you can make your own drugs, right?

So you can make your own drugs, right? And you can have the stuper, pleasure, weirdness or what have you of drugs as your vice, right? So can you decide that you ain’t having any of that gunk on the streets and make your own supply, right?

Does that mean you don’t have a vice purveyor? Does the person from whom you buy the reagents, fertilizers and other production necessary things become your purveyor? Can your lab or even yourself be considered your purveyor?

  1. I think you could do that, if your GM was on with it and you considered how you might overindulge. Perhaps you risk burning down your lab, which if it is in your gang’s HQ could cause all sorts of problems. As for vice purveyor, you could also use whoever supplies the most difficult to obtain item needed for creation.

Don’t forget this is supposed to be relaxation time though, so you might need to semi-regularly use a downtime action to create whatever the substance you use is. That might be enough of a drawback to make it less enticing.

  2. Hate to get all Sons of Kryos here but I’d say talk to your players. Vice Purveyors making the game more human and more interesting. My first instinct would be to say the person who you buy the ingredients from. But maybe the drugs are easy to come by but you need someone to take them with? Or a place to do them?

Don’t think if vice as a drawback. Making it complicate your scoundrel’s lives gains them XP!

  3. The idea I’m imagining here is that a character that doesn’t trust most sources of a drug on either due to unjustified paranoia or sound judgement. That or a behaviour similar to how people make their own alcoholic beverages or bread or plant a vegetable garden even though they don’t need it but enjoy doing so.

Sean Nittner The location and participant angles is interesting as it gives the consumption of a drug a community element to it. Maybe it’s a sort of tea ceremony except with something illegal. It could be a vice the reinforces the Hawkerness of a Hawker crew or adds a splash of it as a side thing for a different group.

  4. I am not sure if it would be considered the correct way but I would look at it the way someone who want their vice to be good food that they cook. Ask are they doing it for the experience of cooking with rare and unusual ingredients, always trying something new or simply using the best ingredients they can buy, if so it might actually be a vice of Luxury more than Stupor (in your example). Or maybe its just the pleasure of the craft, ie Pleasure Vice and he is more of a sampler of the product then a heavy user. Meaning their Vice Purveyor would be the person selling ingredients. Either way I would do it like he is making designer drugs for the most part.
