Hey John

Hey John

Hey John,

I’ve been wondering. In the sessions you play online your players get an extra die when they interact with somone from their own background.

But when i search v6 i cant find any reference towards getting an extra die.

Is it a rule which is out of the most up to date version and it is still there because you got used to it. Or is it out of the new version by accident?

  1. It’s still in the current rules, but it’s under the topic “gathering information”:

“When a gather info roll is made during downtime, the player gets a +1d bonus when a friend or contact is involved, and may spend coin to boost the result level of their roll.”

I wondered if this is really only a special rule for info gathering, and then I noticed that John is using it for all kind of downtime rolls.

  2. Sorry I thought you meant the old rule which gave you +1d whenever you engage with someone from your heritage/background.

The new rules just give you +1d whenever you take a downtime action with the help of your contacts (every action, not just gather info): I think it’s mentioned in the downtime section of the players rules reference.

  3. Thats ok, because i did mean it.

i think Jonh is doing a hybrid of the old and new rule, not sure….

I think he’s giving a +1d to them when they engage with somone from your heratige/background, but only in downtime. though im not sure

  4. Heinze Storck Having just watched session 9, he did not give anyone a bonus die for heritage/background. He did that in the first few sessions when that was still a rule, but now MisterTia is right. It’s just about getting help from friends and contacts during downtime.

  5. Yep, the rule has changed over time.

Now, you get +1d when you get help from a friend or contact during downtime. See page 31 of the early access PDF:

“For any downtime roll, add +1d to the roll if you get help from a friend or contact.”

  6. Thank you all for replying, i think its clear now 😀

and thx for making this rpg system, i love it 😀

Now just a way to make it into a social larp setting….
