I’m reading through v6 of the quickstart and saw where John Harper used some of my group’s castoff crew names! Awesome!

I did just want to nitpick slightly and say that if there’s going to be any sort of final credit, it should go to Matthew Schwaninger and Joe Wroten. All my own suggestions were bad names, just like when I try to name starships in sci-fi games. 🙂

  1. Man, talk about bad starship names…For some reason, my crew keep trying to call their ship the Chronic Walrus.  Fortunately someone always disagrees vehemently, but it never fails to come up.  As an additional bit of weirdness, the person suggesting it and the person who is opposed to the idea is never the same twice…

  2. Mine too, but since I’m the only one in my group who reads them that’s why all my ship names sound bad.

It’s like they lack gravitas or something. 🙂

  3. No, when it comes to bad ship names (sorry to jump games, don’t have a Blades group yet); I got my SWN to name our new-ish Lancer-class ship the Yellow Dancer. I said it as a joke, only one other person got it. It was chosen.

  4. Our current sci-fi game’s vessel was supposed to be something like Victorious Bride, but because of a translator mishap from the original alien dialect, we’re all tooling around in the Trophy Wife.

  5. Did “Suicide is Painless” play on a loop all elevator-music style?  ‘Cause that would give you suicidal tendencies, if you didn’t have them already.
