I’v just noticed that the “it takes extra time” is now missing from the action rolls result (controlled in particular), but it’s still mentioned in the possible consequences.
Is it intentional? Am I missing something?

The standard pistol is described as “slow to reload.” The Hound’s “sharpshooter” ability is described partly as “You can quickly draw and reload your weapons.”
That is the only mention of reloading in the entirety of the quickstart rules, besides the dual pistols.
Am I supposed to take it that it takes a turn to reload? Although that doesn’t make much sense, since everything is reactive to players and there is no roll to reload. If not, then what is the advantage of a 2nd pistol, or a fine “pair of pistols”?
How do you handle it as players/GM? Do you handle it at all?
Heavy weapons.
Heavy weapons. So what’s the point in taking a heavy weapon that uses up more of your load? I understand the gameplay effect of “Fine” weapons and items, but I couldn’t find anything in the rulebook that distinguishes between normal weapons and heavy weapons. Is it just for narrative purposes? Just to be able to say you have a larger weapon, on the off chance that somehow helps out? Because if so, that seems like a rather sketchy benefit.
I have a question about the new Assassins crew I was hoping to get clarified.
I have a question about the new Assassins crew I was hoping to get clarified.
Am I correct in believing that the “Crow’s Veil” crew special ability renders the “Hagfish Farm” claim redundant?
Hey there!
Hey there! I just bought Blades in the Dark and I’m going to be GMing the game later tonight for two of my friends. I have a few questions about how Crews work though:
1) Does every type of Crew start with a Cohort, or only the ones that has one listed at the top right by default? How many people are in a gang Cohort?
2) If a crew has no Cohorts, is anyone in it besides the PCs?
3) One of the Crew Quality upgrades is “Pet/Special.” I’m assuming the pet refers to a Hound’s pet, but what does Special refer to?
Thanks for the help!
Any news on when to expect the next update (V7)?
Any news on when to expect the next update (V7)? I seem to remember John Harper mentioning it coming soon on the last episode of the Six Towers Gang. Normally I’d try harder to be patient, but my group is getting ready to run our first game, and if the next update is right around the corner I’m guessing it might be a good idea to wait. Also, any news on what V7 will contain will be greatly appreciated!

Hello everyone, a couple of friends and i just started a game of blades, and i am the GM, i have a question about training as a downtime action, as i am not entirely sure how it works mechanically, do the roll and then get xp in whatever they are training in according to their roll as if they where working on a longterm project, or do you guys handle it differently?
Veteran advances: there are three circles to the left of the Veteran advance on the play sheet.
Veteran advances: there are three circles to the left of the Veteran advance on the play sheet.
Does that mean you need to spend three playbook advances to buy one Veteran ability? Or does it mean that you can buy up to three Veteran abilities for your character?
On page 18 of the v6 Quickstart there’s the rules for Crew Advancement (picture attached)

It’s not completely clear to me if the clause “In addition, each PC gets 1 COIN (+2 per crew TIER)…” is triggered as part of the “At the end of each session” activities, or only when the crew actually advances (i.e. when you mark 8 crew advancement ticks). To me, the bonus COIN appears to be part of the effects of levelling up the crew, but some of the other players in my group read it the other way.
Hi everyone, I just started dming a game rotating dm.
Hi everyone, I just started dming a game rotating dm. One of the players asked if there was a way to possibly buy crew upgrades or refine their items with coin. I was looking threw the pdf trying to find an answer with no luck. Could any possibly point me to where I’d need to look?
