Quick question about the Vampire Sheet.

While checking out on it I recognized that on 8.1 they do have no lamp and different weight requirements for armor (1less weight for them).

My question is if this difference is inteded or something that maybe mistakenly grandfathered from the previous Versions?

Can a player push themselves or receive assistance when making a resistance roll? I can imagine them accepting the 2 stress in order to reduce their chances of rolling a 1-3 on a single die test. Is this allowed? Rather, would you allow this in your game, and why?

The rules state that a resistance is always successful, and it’s only the stress that varies. Does this apply to pre-emptive resistances? This would mean that, for example, a roll to resist being disarmed by a master swordsman before making your skirmish roll (as on page 11) is always successful. This seems overpowered to me – there should still be some chance to be disarmed. Thoughts from more experienced BITD GMs?

Two lurks in my Tier 0 gang did a group action against a Tier 2 vault. We created a four part clock for breaking into this vault door.

I had determined that their base level of effect would be standard, modified by the quality advantage of the T2 vault pushing it down to no effect. Their quality tools pushed it back up to limited effect.

My questions are, did they also have a scale effect here, both of them working on the vault door pushing them up to standard effect?

Also, on a success with the group action, since there were two of them doing the action, assuming limited effect, does that mean they just tick 1 segment off of the clock, or do they tick 1 segment x the two of them for a total of two segments?

Have really enjoyed my overview of the rules since I picked Blades up earlier this week.

Have really enjoyed my overview of the rules since I picked Blades up earlier this week. Has anyone considered the logistics of a multi-table long con for convention play?

I floated the idea past James Stuart and he highlighted issues with unity of time, since operations tend to have different levels of complexity and a few lucky rolls can make a mission end really quickly. This isn’t a problem for single table play, where you can fill the time with another low prep operation, but could cause headaches in multi-table play if one crew completes three missions in a 4-hour time slot and another completes one.

Any house rule ideas that could help mitigate this issue?

I’m a little uncertain about the alchemy and gadget crafting rules on pages 225-226.

I’m a little uncertain about the alchemy and gadget crafting rules on pages 225-226. It states that the tier of the item produced will be the crew tier + the outcome of the Tinker roll. What does this mean for starting crews, whose tier is 0? If they don’t roll well enough or pay to raise the tier of the crafted item above 0, does the crafting fail?

Also, the rules seem to imply that some items have a minimum tier – how hard and fast should this be? Can shoddier versions of the higher tier items be created, or is it a pass/fail situation? Obviously this is all GM discretion, but I’m looking for advice from more experienced Blades players.

Last night during my session my players ask me this :

“Cause of the really long time we spend in recovery, and the time that some day one of ours PC will spend in prison, does that mean than now we have to creat mutiple characters per player and selected the one to play each session ?”

and the follow up question :

“if i play mutiple character, does that mean after a score i could spend downtime and indulge vice for all my characters (even for the one who doesn’t participated to the score) ? “

So I’ve been going over the book, and really the only mention of the Lord Governor is the estate.

So I’ve been going over the book, and really the only mention of the Lord Governor is the estate. Is there currently a Lord Governor? What’s the relationship with the City Council? It would seem to be strained, considering the Council is enemies with the Imperial Military, but who is the Governor?

Tis me again, w/a basic setting question: Is there [drinkable] water in the Shattered Islands’ world? I mean, if the entire ocean “turned to ink (-like substance)” one would surmise that most fluids are thus, right?

Sadly, I find nothing about this in the corebook…

Thanks!

PS: I didn’t know in which subgroup to posit this, sorry if I made a boo-boo.
