I want to show you my current roll20 background, info banner style, for the great crew of Shadows called “Deveras Wille”. Players are free to scroll up and down and so we have lots of space for all the needed game stuff combined with some eye candy.

We have the player’s pictures & attributes, we have faction clocks and NPC cards for story inspiration… and we have still room on the table for more of this 🙂

Technically it’s a combination of different pictures created in PS on the map layer and additional pictures/tokens on the token layer.

Working great so far and I have fun between sessions to tinker with this.

Is a “ward boss” more a underworld/illegal role or is it an official/legal thing?

Is a “ward boss” more a underworld/illegal role or is it an official/legal thing?

Is a “ward boss” more a underworld/illegal role or is it an official/legal thing?

I see examples of both like

“Roric, the ward boss who ran the criminal operations in Crow’s Foot, has been

killed.”

or

“Political: Magistrate or Ward Boss”

Is this something like the the garristas or capa from Locke Lamora or this a official politcal function of the city?

Thanks for making me undestand this a little better.

You may be glad to hear that shipping costs for the excellent Duskwall Heist Deck (https://www.thegamecrafter.com/games/duskwall-heist-deck) by Andrew Shields via Gamecrafter has dropped significantly.

The product itself is 16.99$ and I bought mine for the painful amount of 40$ in shipping. Now, the alternative shipping is only 9.68$, so it’s even more worth to order than it was before. If you’re looking for ideas about cool NPCs, items, complications (in short: SCORES!) you should check it out.

Note: The pdf version of this (via drivethru) is only a subset of all the cards, so you will miss some of them if you stay virtual.

John Harper Please include the Items page again in the reference sheets. IMO this sheet is very useful as a handout to players and GMs alike.

Right now it is not included (only in the book) but one page to have all the information in one places would be cool.

They even have an album called “Ghosts & Ghoulish scenes” but other cool stuff, too, like lots of maps. So, not only the Whisper will find here something useful.

Just want to say, that I really like the new V8 way how the inital faction status are determined.

Just want to say, that I really like the new V8 way how the inital faction status are determined. We created a new crew last night and connecting them to hunting ground, crew upgrades and contacts brought not only cool story hooks but also a feeling of personal bounding to characters, crew and factions.

IMO that was missing using the old method.

I also like the choices to spend coin to lessen negative effects or going the full +2/-2 instead of only +1/-1.

This, plus: Want to be enemy to a tier 4 faction? Sure, why not! A good story will come frome that.

My conclusion: I well balanced mixture of choice and potential trouble/story.

Did a bigger version of the Doskvol Map and printed it on rigid foam.

Did a bigger version of the Doskvol Map and printed it on rigid foam. I was always a bit irritated that north was on the left and therefor I rotated Johns Map and added the labels again to stay true to the orginal as much as possible.

Then I did my fake old map thing togehter with a fake mock thing and voilá (see picture for result). I’m pretty proud of the result, it looks really cool.

I plan to use it as a prop or as a true map on the game table (with markings). We’ll see how this work out.
