The local board game association is starting a bi-weekly game day, and I thought about running some one shots there. While thinking about ideas how to do it, I had an Eureka moment. I’ll use the gang rules, and people will create characters to play with. Then the actual scores I’ll present them with are things that the factions on my main campaign are doing. Depending on how they play them out I’ll use these games as my “NPC’s”, affecting the relationships and goals of the factions.

The players would have characters that gain XP and grow, but don’t have a crew sheet. Instead they’ll have resources and bonuses depending on for which faction they work for.

In reality the characters work for the Unseen, pulling strings and playing a game of thrones beyond the petty squabbles of the other factions.

Are there any pregen characters that are 8.1 ready anywhere? Planning to run a oneshot soon. Or do I need to make them from scratch? 🙂

Anyone implemented a version of the “Deck of Many Things”? I think it’d be a funny way to do Devil’s Bargains.

An occult deck of cards, found in some forgotten temple of an ancient god. It is said that reading someone’s fortune on it really has an effect. Usually an ill effect, but an effect nonetheless.

“Would you like an extra die for this roll? Okay, Logoc puts his hand into the bag and draws a card, beseeching the aid of the fortunes. He chose… Poorly.”

Ghost essence infused paints. Animated, possessed paintings for the rich and powerful.

The artists of Doskvol have evolved their craft in the dim, maddening twilight of the broken world. Why paint a picture of your deceased loved one, when you can bind their soul into a scene of your choice, and admire them forever?

This requires specialized canvases and paints, and is highly illegal, of course. This is where your crew comes in.

What could possibly go wrong, easiest coin ever, right?
