NPC names
Hi, I wanna make the background of NPCs more noticeable by giving them proper names. The book compares some of these regions with real culturs, so my plan is:
Iruvia – arabic
Skovlan – russian
south akoros – italian (stole all of my names from the locke lamora series)
north akoros – german (my native tongue)
west akoros – english / british
severos – ???
dagger isles – ???
Tycheros – ???
Do you have ideas for the last 3? Or a favorite name generator? Or a way better idea?^^
My player Jason Lee used Maui names for the Dagger Isles, which I thought was totally boss.
I gave Tycherosi characters Greco-Roman-esque first names, and for family names I called them “[Child]
of[Descriptive-Title-Of-Demon].” For example, Tyrabrena Daughter-of-Endless-Hunger or Alcheron Son-of-Whispered-Barbs.I think in our game we made the Severosi people Irish/Gaelic, but completely unrelated to whatever is implied by the setting.
Exactly what was bugging us when we made our characters!
Serveros – Nigerian
Dagger Isles – Japanese/Spanish
Tycheros – Latin
FYI, Stars without Number Revised Edition has name generators for all of these I just mentioned (and it’s free)
Omari Brooks I can only find section generators – can you please link me the name generator?
You could also try fantasynamegenerators.com – Fantasy name generators. Names for all your fantasy characters. which has, ooh, over a hundred different types of name, lots with real world bases.

The Name Generators section starts on page 238 of either edition of Stars Without Number Revised.
I usually decide on culture and either grab a list of actors from a few local movies on IMDB or The Movie DB, or I go to Wikipedia and find a list of actors/politicians/scientists/whatever from country X.
