Has anyone played BitD in the Locke Lamora setting? I’m thinking about doing just that. I probably wouldn’t need to change much. Since there a no ghosts and the arcane is not something a scoundrel has any access to: Any idea how to replace Attune?

  1. There is some supernatural stuff in the Gentleman Bastard series, so I think you could probably leave attune in with a little tweaking (that’s the easy option). Alternatively, it could be a luck-based thing? There are a lot of moments in that series where the protagonists get by on luck.

    – Attune: When you attune, you tap into your sixth sense. You might get a gut feeling about a situation. You might try to understand or communicate with the supernatural. You might pray for a miracle. You could try to perceive beyond sight in order to better understand your situation (but Surveying might be better).

    – Chance: When you chance it, you roll the dice of fate and hope for sheer good luck. You might jump out of an open window without a plan. You might utter a prayer to the Crooked Warden before diving into shark-infested water. You might improvise an elaborate lie without any preparation (although Sway might be better).
