Scum & Villainy: Attribute action dots

Pg. 10 says “Each attribute has a rating (from zero to 3) that tells you how many dice to roll when using that attribute,” however, the character sheet shows four dots, one for each action and pg.11 says “The rating for each attribute is equal to the number of dots in the first column under that attribute (see the examples below).”

Do I just ignore ignore it if/when the attribute gets a fourth dot or did I miss something on another page?

  1. I believe not certain that the fourth dot is obtainable by selecting a specific crew advance as to the column I believe that represents the max u can start with

  2. Actually, attributes are the rating that counts the first dot in every action. I don’t think there is anything preventing you from taking a fourth action. This feels like an oversight from moving from 4 dots to 3 when modding from the BitD baseline. Probably a GM call whether to cap it at 3 or just roll with it, but since you usually only use attributes for resistance rolls and aren’t specifically looking for 6’s, I don’t think it’s going to make a huge impact to game play outside of a few stress points on highly advanced characters.
