  1. Well, I have some ideas. See some of my older posts for the picture but the rough run-down is this: I use textures from textures.com as background (old wood or old paper). Use one big table instead of several smaller ones, because with one big table the players are free to navigate by themselfes. With serveral smaller ones the GM must switch views all the time and this is annoying (for players and GM esp.). I use lots of NPC/PC Cards for eye candy and small items for mood, like placing a skull and same blades on the table. I love to draw connections between factions and NPCs using simple roll20 lines. For some time I tried to play stress markers/pictures on the desktop but now I would not do that anymore. It’s too hard to keep charactersheets and desktop in sync manually. I think that is the reason why Jakob asked for Pro because he had some cool skripts for that.

  2. For my table I ended up doing a lot of work with Photoshop to create high-res assets and tinker with existing props found online. Textures are a must, both for just using as layers in the background and for adding some, well, texture to assets. I also recommend the One Big Table model rather than creating multiple pages for the game – figure out what things you and your players are constantly using and make spaces on the bigger table for them. Thief, Dishonored and other Blades-y images can give you ideas for color schemes – I also found a site that has textures and other assets from the Thief series -> thief.washboardabs.net – Texture Families ~ Well-Equipped Thief
