Has anyone played Band of Blades yet? I’m reading through the book and feeling as overwhelmed as I did the first time I read Blades in the Dark…!
I think I need to watch the actual play series and see a game in action before trying to run a game… Or just jump in and see what happens! 🙂
youtube.com – Band of Blades: Episode 1.1
There is a whole actual play there 🙂 I’ve been watching and ts pretty cool – obviously from a slightly earlier version of the rules as there is stuff which has changed.
I’m having trouble designing encounters/scores that don’t kill my party. Is this game like old school D&D where the first few levels are just deadly?
Or is my group just bad at role playing?
The last question was a joke/reference to the blades in the dark campaign I’m watching on YouTube with John Harper and Adam Koebel.
But I am seriously wondering if others are having the same expirience
I got in a game at NewMexiCon and enjoyed it immensely. Mind you it was probably stripped down a bit due to the one shot nature of the game. We did a quick fight (tactical withdrawal) at a bridge to start. Next our leader choose a raiding mission as our primary focus and we ran that. It went smoothly (play wise, there were bad moments thanks to a devils bargain and a moment when my partner left me to an ambush so he could save the rest of the band). Felt dangerous but not deadly but maybe the person running it just wanted us to walk away feeling like heroes. 🙂
Kenny Crowe cool thanks! I started that this afternoon, it’s helpful to see how things play out…
