I am finally getting my group to BitD. It’s a slow going and I really hope to keep up the momentum until we get to our first session.
Players decided to play a Hawkers game and I began to re-read the book. I like the option where Bazso gives Hawkers a product to sell. While the product that Bloodletters sold was just too awesome, I can’t replicate it but then it hit me. Bazso is part of that … society, so maybe he gets the new product from them? Perhaps it comes from Deathlands? I am still working on the effects, probably something eerie, maybe even beautiful until the crash comes.
Here’s the question. On page 305 there is a table of cults and cult practices. Is it intended to be read that cult and cult practice are on the same row or you just roll twice? I assume the former.
I normally roll twice on the cult/cult practices table, but there’s no reason you couldn’t just roll once and take both results from that line.
We normally roll twice (two separate charts) but they work fine if you read them straight across too.
I can totally see Bazso having some deathlands artifact that people pay good scales and slugs to get a chance to touch, but you have to move it around a lot because the Spirit Wardnes will totally snatch it up if they find it, and when it’s in use they can detect it.
Maybe something pre-cataclysmic that feels like the sun shining on your skin when you touch it?
That sounds cool although it would lead to more like arranging pilgrimages than selling a product and I don’t want to make things too different to my players.
What I was thinking is that there is a well in the Deathlands that produces water with intoxicating effects. People using it will get beautiful dreams of sunshine, gentle breeze and grass and green leaves. They are like visions from ages past. Obviously there is a catch and intoxicated people are somehow used by this forgotten god.
