Would like some feedback on a call I made – Player’s aren’t unhappy, just want to know if it feels right or if I misinterpreted something.

Character got some harm during a score, and so obviously wanted to heal up during downtime. One of the others had a Physiker friend, so sent the injured PC to them. The way I read it, your friends are your friends, not necessarily the crew’s friends, so I started up an 8 tick clock for “Doctor wants a favour” that’s going to tick every time someone gets sent to them. Sounds reasonable?

The other query I have is that they’re playing a crew of Smugglers, and want to set up a steady route – I’m thinking of replacing either Vice Den or Side Business with it on their claim map (Same mechanics, but different fiction)

  1. If that’s how you interpreted it then roll with it.

Others don’t interpret it that way and will allow sharing of friends liberally. In fact a witch friend on Rollplay Blades was shared with another player when they got injured several times and they ended up in a relationship with that NPC, resulting in some awesome role play.

  2. Yes, but she was only shared after they saved her life, her apartment was compromised so she felt unsafe, and they let her move in to their secret lair… You could say in that example that they had already paid forward admirably.

  3. I definitely wouldn’t say you misinterpreted anything. I can see that one going either way — I personally run it that as long as you get a reference or introduction from the other PC, their friends will work with you too, much the same as they’d work with the PC that’s their friend (though of course if you end up screwing them over it can have consequences for said PC, who will probably be unhappy with you!). But the way you ran it seems perfectly fine and within the scope of the rules too! I might do that with certain NPCs in the future that I deem to be less trusting. 😛
