  1. Let me make a humble first contribution from my game:

    Congealing the Void (Ritual)

“What does the ritual do and how is it weird?”

It replaces all liquid in a small area with Void water, and then turns it into an extremely viscous, almost solid substance. Useful for walking on water, or slowing water demons, or giving watery creatures like humans a very uncomfortable time. It’s weird because you can hear the seductive song of the leviathans from within the substance.

“What must I do to perform the ritual, and what is its price?”

Must inscribe runes on a solid surface near the liquid. 3 capsules of human blood. These people will die, no matter what. A lot of blood is needed. Price is 2 stress. Whenever there are problems with the ritual, it takes blood from the closest source (probably the caster).

“What new belief or fear does knowledge of this ritual and its attendant forces instill in you?”

There’s a connection between human blood and the Void Sea, which was fed initially by the blood of those killed during the cataclysm. The blood used in the ritual calls out to the leviathans, and they are drawn closer to Doskvol every time the Void sea is fed via this ritual.

  2. The Butterfly Effect Ritual

“What does the ritual do and how is it weird?”

Summons a demonic catapillar, which nests its way into a human’s ear, allowing the ritual user to mind control the victim for a short time. It’s weird because the human becomes a cocoon for the catapillar, which eventually errupts from the host’s body as an uncontrollable gigantic demon butterfly.

“What must I do to perform the ritual and what is the price?”

5 stress is the cost. To perform the ritual, you need a human sacrifice, painting an arcane magic circle upon the floor with its blood, and salt to contain the catapillar within the circle until it is fully summoned.

“What new belief or fear does this instill?”

Belief: Sacrifices must be made for power. Death follows the strong, chaos favours those who embrace it. Accept the madness or perish with the rest of mankind as a sheep.

  3. Matthew Terry You don’t need a whisperer, just a Cutter with a few ranks of attune and ballsy enough to grab ritual casting as a veteran advance.

    Leviathan’s Thew

The Caster says a short incantation before quaffing a slurry of Leviathan’s Blood, Heart meat, and a small collection of deathlands flora, paying Five stress in the process. For the remainder of the scene the caster gains the following:

The Caster is imbued with rage, increasing his strength, stamina, and resistance to pain. (GM automatically adjusts Position / Effect)

The Caster may fight a gang of scale equal to his tier on equal footing.

The Caster may perform feats of strength that verge on the supernatural.

The Caster gains a fear effect similar to ghosts

The Caster suffers from “Cannot tell Friend from Foe” and “Cannot stop until they are all broken” [these may not be resisted]

Curiously enough, the caster also gains the ability to perceive through rage, though the stints are short and uncontrolled. Rumors have begun to spread that ‘If your fury is met with body-less stares and your cries of anger turn to eyes in your throat, the devil of rage draws near.’

Those that have regularly spent time around this ‘devil’ have noted how he laments that ‘Little separates men from devils save the breadth and depths by which they experience emotions’
