“Warrior’s Way”

You may push yourself in order to attune to conflict instead of scrapping, letting the Way guide your actions in battle (you still gain the benefits of pushing yourself such as +1d or increased effect.)

I’m still tinkering with the wording but overall, we dig it. It’s going to be an advanced ability but I’m not sure if I want it to be tied to a particular faction (the Vigilance?) or not.

  1. Seems maybe a bit too limited, compared to the abilities that let you do a cool thing when you push or the ability that lets you spend 2 Stress to use anything in place of anything else.

  2. Benjamin Davis, how about it also lets your unarmed attacks strike as if they were melee weapons? Possibly fine? You could stack the effect boost. That’s kind of close to “Unstoppable”, though. It’s an idea seed, so suggestions are welcome, that’s why it’s here. 🙂

  3. It could be argued that you’re using an action rating not as intended, so that’s a solid benefit, especially given a boost to dice or effect. However, a Way-focused version of “Rook’s Gambit” might be better in its versatility. Porting “Rook’s Gambit” as-is would work but it’s the focus on the Way I enjoy. I can think of so many ways the Way could influence other actions! What about using Attune for any action, with +1d or effect? That’s damn beefy, but specialized. In any case I appreciate the feedback, Benjamin Davis.

  4. Hmm. Broadening it to letting you use Attune for anything is no real limitation; With Rook’s Gambit, you’re already going to use your best action anyway.

Perhaps, as an intermediate point, any Prowess action?

  5. Our love of Mystics, specifically Nightspeakers, has exploded. We’re creating sacred items, descriptions, rituals, lore, metaphysical scenes…it’s been nuts! My wife usually just endures my bursts of creativity and inserts her bits here and there, but even she’s been super-energized.
