Quick question, the kickstarter page says that the special edition of the book contained the city guide to U’Duasha, is that true? If so, is it possible to get that information elsewhere?

  1. I’m dearly hoping they sell U’Duasha digitally at some point. Not much reason for me to buy a hardcover book that I have neither the space nor the offline group for.

  2. Lex Permann well, the problem is more that you couldn’t buy this book if you wanted to. It’s the kickstarter only version.

John Harper I would very much like to give you money for this thing : )

  3. I pledged to the regular-level Kickstarter back in April 2015. This November, I finally ponied up for the Special Edition hardcover + PDF that the Evil Hat store had as a limited-time offer (I took one of the last 10 copies, if memory serves).

I don’t think anything on the Kickstarter page for BitD states the SE (in digital or print form) to be an all-time Kickstarter-only exclusive; if so, it would be quite a crappy move. KS-exclusive features (especially if they are not cosmetic – like covers and so on – but solid content, such as the ~30 pages of U’Duasha) aren’t something I personally would like to see more of, and they seem to do more harm than good to a game long-term.

I mean, there are people in this very group ready and willing to pay for the Special Edition, but as of now – ten whole months after the game’s actual release to the public – there’s no way to legally get SE as PDF, outside of a limited-time offer of a free add-on to the hardcover. There are also no news regarding whether it will be sold separately at all or not (and when, if it will).

  4. John has mentioned on Reddit that he is thinking about how to sell the U’Duasha content, possibly packaged with something else. I think he’s aware that people want to give him money for it, and it will probably come to the unwashed masses, eventually.
