Tomorrow I will post the 8th chapter of my Blades in the Dark novel, “The Savage Worms of Silkshore.” Backing at any level will grant access to reading the first 8 chapters, so that’s pretty cool. =) That’s the first 1/4 of the book. For those just joining us, the status quo has grown uneasy in Silkshore. The Gondoliers, longtime background authority for keeping crime organized, are slipping as a strange disease is affecting them. Meanwhile, displaced Skovlanders are pushing their way in, looking to turn Silkshore into a home away from home for the refugees.
The story follows two crews that are positioned to shift the balance and make a real difference in how the new status quo settles out. One crew comes from the offices and gardens of privilege, and the other from the hardscrabble streets and canals. As everything slides out of balance, the scoundrels scramble to see to it that the new balance puts them at the center.
