Alright the players have decided to steal an occult relic from Strangford’s Manor. Who wants to help me brainstorm the surprises they’ll find inside?

  1. Have they got any enemies?

You could have them walk in on scene of a murder. Their enemies having found out their planned heist left the bodies so they would take the heat. Depending on how long ago it was they may have ghosts ir cows to contend with too.

  2. A very loyal and tight-lipped group of chambermaids and servants. All of them cruel women that look alike yet claim no obvious familial relationships. Strangford has not been seen for months, yet the house affairs continue with efficiency and an almost occult pattern of activity. Attempting to pinpoint a schedule is maddening. Beware the cook, for while she seems the friendliest, she is the most feared. Whispered among the scant vendors brave enough to supply her with goods are speculations at the sullen, quiet men (maybe hollows?) that arrive from Bellwether Crematorium, their large, heavy, and wet bags in tow. The vendors hint at something unnatural and forbidden on her menu, and grow uneasy when they turn their worry to why young Credge, Gustav’s boy, hasn’t shown up for work in the last few days…

  3. The Vultures a rival cultist crew is probably their most prominent enemy. They’ve been busy grabbing turf mostly…

They are allies with the gondoliers but also keep sacrificing gondoliers whenever they come to ask for tithe. So that should eventually fall apart.

The spirit wardens are cracking down on occultist activity in the area but haven’t really caught wind of the PCs yet.

There is an inspector who might be tracking them though…

Strangely enough because of the heat on them, they have been mostly focusing on supernatural enemies which has less political ramifications. But this has also left them starved for turf.

Michael Bolis I really like the loyal servant angle. Maybe the Church of Ecstasy has meetings at the manor where they eat this mysterious meal.
