Has anyone done an explicit Dishonored hack for Blades already? I’m gearing up for running my first game and while I like the setting of Sokvol I have several Dishonored fans amongst the players and wondered if there was any content to convert it across I could just pick up and use?

  1. Grab a map of the city. Copy the Faction format in the book, and write up notes for Daud’s assassins, the revolutionaries, the overseers, the church, the Bottle Gang, and so on. (Spoilers: they’re pretty much all already in the book, with different names). Ready to go!

  2. I’d go with Alfred Rudzki here for definite, it’s what I did with my Blades of New Crobuzon setting hack. Actually really fun digging into the lore to find NPCs and factions, and inventing whole cloth where you see gaps. Also, you can include notes on terminology and setting assumptions so people can get on the same page.

  3. I’d go with Alfred if you wanted to go that route… but Duskwall is so compelling in its own right, and hits the same notes as Dishonored does (though more completely, as it’s a more developed world), that I hardly see the need. 🙂

  4. I appreciate people’s points about hacking up a version, but I was explicitly interested in knowing if there was an existing hack I could look at. I don’t want to try and hack a game without ever having played it straight, that’s a recipe for messing up balances you didn’t realise were there. I also don’t want a Blades game that just changes a few names but doesn’t really pull in the differences in Whispers/Ghosts/Sparktech that a Dishonored world should really have.
