I’ll be running a one-shot of Blades in the Dark at a gaming convention in a little bit. I have my own thoughts (Bravos), but what crew type do you think would be the best to have pre-selected for a one-shot blades game?

Just pre make characters and don’t worry about crew stuff. Let the players decide how they want to do it so they don’t feel boxed into playing a “type” of crew.
Assassins, Bravos, or Smugglers would be my top pick for a one-shot. Shadows and Hawkers next, and last the Cult.
Maybe make one of each of those and let the table choose.
How long of a session are you planning?
Something to consider. Gangs for the Crows.

I typically spend between 30-45 minutes on character creation at the table. Pay attention to what your players tell you about their background and use that to figure out 1 or 2 factions to be allies or enemies for the job, then just jump in. I’ve found that deciding things like lair location and upgrades just make a oneshot more complicated than it needs to be.
Andrew Shields I think I’m going to go with that. Thank you!
You are most welcome. =)
