Hey Folks.

Hey Folks.

Hey Folks.

Just wanted to let everyone know that Scum & Villainy v1.6 is out!

What’s the differences in 1.6?

It’s got 22 new pages, some rules clarifications, 2 new ships, rules updates for final Blades release, a ton more examples, and some world building. Aside from full faction plates, this should be everything new that’s coming in the core S&V text.

Where can I get it?

If you’re a backer, you should be able to go back to the release link and the files will be updated.

If you got it on DriveThru you can you should have gotten an email notifying you of updates, but if that got spam-boxed or whatnot, you can go to Drivethru, log in and download the new files (either from your library or from the product page).

What’s next?

John LL and I will be prioritizing Band of Blades work next till there’s a playable alpha/beta. So expect more news on that this month.

For S&V we’ll be working on 1.7 which will mostly be incorporating existing blades rules into the text (still waiting on the SRD) so that S&V becomes standalone – and finishing up the remainder of the faction plates. Though that’s a ways off (largely because it’s a ton of text).

We made a chunk of stuff for our home game that we’re talking about releasing as a small expansion this summer (not sure if folks are interested though).

See you around space cowboys. Tell me what you think of the new ships!

  1. Stras Acimovic I have the link but when I access it the folder seems empty… Any help you could provide would be greatly appreciated. I’m really looking forward to seeing these updated rules for scum and villainy.

  2. Adam Norwick – I tested it, tested it incognito, did it in two separate browsers, did it mobile, had someone from another country do it, and had a friend at work that’s never used it before look. The files pop up for all of us. Try again with the usual caveats (hard refresh, double check that the spelling is right, see if there’s some funky interaction with add blockers etc).

  3. Thanks. I tried it again by opening it in an incognito tab and it worked fine. Weird. Anyway, it worked, I’m excited, and thanks for the quick response.

  4. Following up with what Chris Paladino said, I purchased Blades through backerkit, and when I go to the KS page it says it is only visible by backers. Am I SOL?

  5. Alfredo Tarancón yep! Those are some of the inspirations indeed!

If I have to be honest the Cerberus also has a ton of Cowboy Beebop DNA and the Firedrake was inspired by things like Blake’s 7, Farscape and SW: Rebels.

  6. Stras Acimovic Oh. i was under the impression that the backerkit included the stretch goals and whatnot from the KS campaign.

  7. Ty Oden – this question crops up periodically and is regularly answered in this forum: Some of the stretch goals (like my Spider playbook) is included in core and will appear in backerkit. Some (like the Vigilantes handout) are free. Some will be for sale separately after the KS. The (not yet finished) Blades website should eventually have links to where you can find everything.

It’s dependent on the individual stretch goal, authors etc. And the answer varies for all. But no, they’re not all included.

  8. Not at the moment Greg (that may change in the future). Dead tree formats only work when you order a quantity, which means I’d have to reformat all the files for book printing, and run a KS of my own or somesuch.

  9. Thanks for the reply. I thought Drivethru print on demand would be possible without buying quantity. Either way, I can always print it out myself. Thanks!
