What rituals have your Whispers come up with? The Whisper in my crew is looking for a bit of inspiration.
So far he has the Summon a Supernatural Ally
Wizards Eye where he can look into a known room
Change weather where he can subtly create a fog, start or stop light rain, change temperature etc
He is a part of a Shadows crew so isn’t looking for anything overt

From an early iteration of the rules:
plus.google.com – So the Motes (thieves come cult) have just finished a few long term projects …
Nathan Roberts that’s fantastic! How did that work out in play?
Nathan Roberts while I believe that ritual would excite the player, it’s not really what the scoundrel is looking for. 😄
So how did that score work out anyway?
It was a complete disaster! The Motes were found out by the Spirit Wardens (they rolled very poorly on engagement). Throughout the score they players took all sorts of juicy Devil’s Bargains and still rolled multiple failures – the net result being that the crew ended up stressed to the hilt and unable to resist the consequence of being transformed into ghosts and their spirits captured to be used later in the hound pits for the ‘illegal’ possessed Skovland Hound fights gambled on by the rich and frivolous.
plus.google.com – So….. We had a TPK, or at least a Total Party Trauma. The infiltration went…
I’m working on one with my group that allows them to spectrally join a pair of near-identical objects (created from the same bone, inlaid with silver from the same mine, etc) in order to link them and thus create a listening device or potentially a way to communicate over long distances. The danger to using them is that they serve as a ghostly superhighway, and any spirit that happens upon one can travel to the other at will, instantly bypassing any wards or other defenses.
Our Whisper developed a ritual that creates a tear in the Ghost Field itself, which he can then wrap around himself like a cloak, rendering himself invisible for a time. The downside is that it’s extremely cold; the first time he cast it he caused himself some injuries due to frostbite. That was before the ritual rules were finalized, so it would likely have gone differently if he were to develop something like that now.
What about Vocal Projection? When used, the ritual allows the user to speak completely silently where they are but be heard speaking (/whispering/shouting as preferred) at a point of their choosing (within whatever reasonable distance you decide). As standard they can either speak in their own voice or they can repeat any words they have heard spoken by another person (though if not repeated verbatim, it may sound clunky). If they push themselves, they can focus enough to be able to create sentences using words they have not heard, or they can switch to a second voice, or they can use an original voice (not from a person they have heard). It would probably require a successful study roll watching the person speak of course.
Something more stealth-kill focused, maybe shadow control. The player can summon a portal in a significantly dark patch of shadow and put one body part through. This body part disappears and an identical shaped appendage made entirely of shadows is created in a patch of shadow in a nearby location. This allows for players to grab people or objects, turn off switches, or see through the shadows eyes. Push for more than one body part (e.g. both hands), or greater distance, or to maintain that body part (and control over it) once the original body part is removed from the portal. However, each time this ritual is performed, add a tick to an 8 segment clock called “The shadows are aware” (possible conclusions of which include shadowy limbs pulling people through the emergence portal and creating shadowey replacements, shadows whispering continuously where portals have been summoned and revealing secrets of the person who used the portal, etc.).
