Are veteran advances (crew or character) limited in the number you can take?

yeah you get 1 per box I think that winds up as 3 for characters but I’d have to look at the sheet again since I haven’t in a while
Yeah and then in turn.. Only… 2 for crews
no. You can have as many as you want 🙂
did that change in version 8 because thats directly opposed to what John said on the community boards for Roll Play Blades Kenny Crowe
Rick H John recently said it in a stream he did. If what you said is true, he may contradicted himself a bit. It’s not stated anywhere in the rules, but according to John you can have as many as you want.

straight from the horses mouth 🙂 3:44:10 mark.
John Harper SPECIFICALLY saying that the veteran advances are unlimited / no cap
oh sweet thanks Blaze Azelski Kenny Crowe yeah he must have changed it then
I can shed some light on the confusion. John himself has never said that each player is only restricted to three veteran advances, just that there are three veteran advances worked into the crew sheet. The Rollplay community ran with that and interpreted as “you can only take three at most.”
So not a contradiction so much as a misinterpretation of his words. Both in the rulebook and out, John’s stance is usually along the lines of “your group, your game.”
He actively encourages everyone to do things their own way.
I’m working on reorganizing my sheets so there’s more room for veteran advances(I might sacrifice the notes section), as well as room for more contacts (since that’s what my group really seems to be interested in).
