Hey folks!

Hey folks!

Hey folks!

Thought people might want to know about a new potential hack of the Blades system which is on offer. I’m currently running a kickstarter for my planar fantasy rpg (Sig), and my penultimate stretch goal is developing a planar fantasy reskin of Blades in the Dark. Thought folks might like to know about this!

  1. Oh my!

Sounds very cool. If I understand correctly, this stretch goal will be unlocked if you reach 475 backers – and you’re now at 399. And today’s the last day of the Kickstarter…

Sounds to me like a Risky position, but the effect is definitely Great! 😉

  2. I talked with some folks at dreamation about how much they enjoyed this game, but the Blades idea put it over the top for me. It’s up to 421 backers now, so maybe it’ll take

  3. I played it at Dreamation. We annihilated a plane of existence and lured our enemies into an ambush where we killed them via SexDeathDance spell (surprise: not my idea). I played a gnome reporter with the belief “Family sucks aka I hate Thanksgiving” and live tweeted throughout the event as @sig_gazetteer (loaned to me temporarily by Jason Pitre).

The scene framing mechanic was collaborative and took us to wondrous strange places. I’m not sure how I feel about conflict resolution: it’s like you’re all Ferengi negotiating to define reality. The results were very interesting, and I definitely want to play it again to get a better handle on the game. Oh, and I backed it, of course.

  4. Keiran Sparksman Yes indeed. I have a rough outline of the approach at this point, with will mostly have the different Planes themselves filling the role that factions serve in Blades, so the Plane of Flames can steal turf/power from the Plane of Life.

It’s on the backburner, but it is simmering.

  5. Keiran Sparksman I’m not restraining it too much in terms of heritages for these shard realms. It does both constrain the philosophies a touch, but only in the sense that each of them is a different genre they impose on the city. Adventure, Heist, Vigilante, Community, Weirdness, or Rebellion..
