Do friends and contacts grant a +1d to downtime rolls?

Do friends and contacts grant a +1d to downtime rolls? I ask because I’m watching Bloodletters, ep 7 and Oskarr gets a +1d to Quellyn’s quality to heal him. However, I’m spacing where that rule comes from, or has it been changed?

Oh, the whole “It puts the ‘love’ in ‘love-iathan’..” had me laughing my ass off. Kings to Stras!

Oh, another bit for John, Sean, Adam and/or Stras: since Arcy and Oskarr were running around hurt, were those harm penalties not mentioned because they wouldn’t have impacted the score at the party or were they accounted for already?

  1. Ben Liepis, yep the +1D for friends got accidentally cut, it’s being put back in.

And yeah. our wound penalties didn’t apply but we probably should have talked about them more (as in a couple cases I think the would have applied). This was just a slip up on our part, not how it should be done per se.

  2. Oh, wow. Thanks for being so quick! That bit being put back in is going to make my players very happy. Awesome.

Thinking back to the score I think it could’ve been justified that Oskarr might’ve taken a penalties to Attuning, but I personally wouldn’t have. Maybe to a Tempest attack or something.

Arcy, honestly, seemed so on-point and focusing on leading that I can totally see her ignoring her stab wound. Plus she had that numbing moss. And let’s face it, she’s a bad-ass. She totally gives that “I ain’t got time to bleed!” vibe.

I’m giving my two cents to gauge your thoughts and if you think “No, Arcy would’ve been hurting”, feel free to chime in.

BTW, Arcy doesn’t suck (Canter…) and I have to say that when I read your bit in Vigilantes about Canter shooting her dead I said, “What the fuck!?”. Arcy’s ghost…if I even go with her being killed…is so being a potential ally against the Bloodletters!

  3. Thanks Ben Liepis. Who is to say if Canter ever kills Arcy (seems likely though, She’d hesitate and he’d draw first if it came to blows) but that seemed like a pretty good opening for Vigilantes. Plus, I can be framing my own character as the target after all 🙂

  4. I’m not mad or anything, it’s just a sad as Arcy’s a pretty decent person (compared to the demon-child and fashionista Joker, that is. I do love Canter and Oskarr, too) with a pretty tragic story. Since I’m behind on the videos I wasn’t sure if it was what happened. It is a dramatically awesome opening, especially if you’re a fan of the Bloodletters. It gives a personal player connection that can be channeled through your scum-hunting vigilantes.
